Paul McCartney - Wonderful Christmastime. Suffer through it here: Absolute crap, in every way. s***ty synthesiser, mundane, inane lyrics, turgid melody. Stealing a living as a Christmas song. Adds nothing to humanity. They play this s*** in Guantanamo bay to extract confessions. Hell, I want to confess, just to make it stop. Yours?

It's true that the McCartney offering is particularly excrescent but I can't help thinking that it's deliberate. I loathe the Mariah Carey song with an all-consuming passion, to say nothing of everything by St Cliff of Elm House. It's a pity Gary Gliter's Rock and Roll Christmas has been edited out as I thought it was quite good.
