I was present at this game.I recall the date 27th Nov 1976, only because my friend got married that day and I went straight from the match to the reception. I think it may be the 28th April 1976 0 - 0, we did play Chesterfield the following season and that was also 0 - 0.

Saw my first match when I was 5. 66 years ago. Always remenber being allowed to change ends so as to be behind the goal Palace were attacking. Been a few years since have been to Selhurst but always catch the games on the net.

There was nearly 28,000 at the April game, not bad for a Wednesday.

Also remember us beating Mansfield 2-0 and Steve Perrin scored. A fan ran on the pitch and dropped his trousers. Interesting how many of the opposition are now National League. Aldershot, Halifax, Chesterfield, York City, Wrexham.

Wow I must be the youngest on HOL! Only 30 years a fan. Either that or the plastic fans are too ashamed to post. I can't remember which was my first game, but I was about 15, travelled up with my sister's boyfriend and stood in the old holmesdale terrace. I think a ticket cost £6. It was in our first season back in the old first division 89/90. I remember listening to the play offs earlier that year and writing the result on the blackboard at school. Unfortunately I did not go to many games until I left school. Although I sat next to Ian Wright and his girlfriend at a friendly against East Grinstead just before the cup final. His leg was strapped up and he was wearing a smart suit. Interestingly the Palace XI won 7-0 and a young lad called Gareth Southgate scored a penalty! I went to the ZDS final the following season and remember seeing us beat Man Utd 3-0 in our last home game that season.

We lost to Colchester, and unlike most supporters I didn't immediately get the "bug". In fact, I didn't go to another game until we were relegated to the newly formed 4th Division in 1958, which heralded in the great days of Byrne, Summersby, Rouse, etc.
