Not doing well?? do me a favour!!! we have played all of the top 4 teams plus Arsenal in 5 consecutive games. No team below 6th would have done any better. We now have 6 winnable games, if we only get 5 points or so from these games coming up, then you would have a valid point, but i fully expect us to be back up to around 8th or 9th position by the end of December

You might want to re-read what he was replying to, think he meant the academy.

You are right as he was allowed to own Manchester City by the premier league once before and you are also right how murky Thai politics are, nothing is ever straight forward.
His record on human rights as Thai prime minister is dreadful. Over two thousand people killed in his war on drugs, yet over half those killed have been proved to have no connection with drugs whatsoever. (Human Rights Watch) and he still passed the fit and proper person check by the premier League!

quote=Painter;3490083]

The Thai legal system is corrupt as they come. He was basically forced out as he was becoming more popular than their King, for throwing money at poor rural areas to enlist votes.

Looking at who is regarded “fit and proper” currently, he will have no issues.

I did...but I'm sure Glazier realises that

I'm not sure how many on here regularly watch our Academy teams play, but from the little I've seen and heard we don't have a group of players anywhere ready for competing for a first team place.

You can't just promote players because we have a lack of cover in certain positions.

As to the proposed takeover, Mr. Parish will remain in position in terms of running the club it would seem. Therefore I would not expect a seismic change in personnel but hopefully some meaningful funds to deliver the stadium improvements and strengthen the playing squad.

Agree with the first part of this. Although I have only seen a handful of games no one I've seen looks ready to make the step up.

Talent yes, of course. Big enough talent to be allowed anywhere near the first team?
I think we'd have already seen them emerging if that were true.
The reality is we don't have the quality in our youth ranks that the top 5/6 clubs do. Unless we are able to upgrade our academy we probably never will.

On the subject of our academy I was speaking to someone who saw Ryan Inniss play on Saturday for Newport County v Oldham, a game the visitors won 1-0.Inniss is on loan from our club.

It was a poor game,Newport County were disappointing but Inniss won everything in the air.He didn't do anything wrong, headed the ball, passed back to the keeper and cleared his lines.

Another of our academy products goalkeeper Tom King was on the bench for Newport.King has actually signed for Newport.Lennie Lawrence who of course was at our club is the Management Consultant at Newport and was at the game in the dugout.

i can tell you one thing, we wont know if we dont try, what harm is having them on the bench instead of jairo, or camarasa, or dann for example going to do?

How is it flippant, I've watched many academy games and we are shocking, no one is at a level to step up Any time soon. U23 footy is a very poor standard too.
