An article dug up from the summer hardly enforces a ''takeover in weeks '' .
Like most threads that have run their course the chaps just start talking of something else .

And we still need a striker

It isn't an "article dug up from the summer", it was published in the Sun on 24 November. I combined it with the earlier takeover discussion in light of there having been some extensive previous discussion on the same subject. There are plenty of existing threads on signings/the academy without hijacking this one.

The Sun is hardly a reputable sauce of information though is it

It appears to be a journalist taking a punt on something happening. You can’t take anything seriously without direct quotes from those involved, in fact he doesn’t even say who is involved apart from Parish and we could all work that out. Football finance is a strange world, but the chances of a kind old benevolent billionaire, who has just discovered his love for Palace are a remote at best.

I'm not sure that any of the billionaires that took over football clubs did it out of devotion to the club

Not true.

I hear that the owner of Man City is a second cousin, once removed of the Gallagher brothers and also look at Roman Abramovic who was actually born in Putney.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

There’s an interview in today’s Evening Standard with Parish where he says he is not looking to sell his stake in the club, but he is looking for additional outside investment.
It’s back to the old quandary; can the club find new investors who are prepared to leave Parish in control of the day to day running of the club, although no doubt they would have a big say in the deployment of the finances.
