Was the way in which he reacted the absolutely ideal response? Probably not. Are unpredictable things more likely to happen when you burst into a room you've not been invited into? Probably.

A perfect and concise summary.

A pretty typical group tear up with no back story.

At least the bird for Greenpeace got somewhere near her target. You'd still be drafting a letter of engagement outlining your plan of attack before bottling any acceptance of it.

Still waiting on that DM boy.

I'm not sure that members of a family out celebrating getting their heads repeatedly kicked while unconscious on the ground by a far larger group is a typical tear up, but each to their own. I of course appreciate how gung ho you are about this head kicking business though. A real advocate.

I've sent you the PM you seem desperate for me to send Chris, since you seem completely enamored by the idea of kicking everyone in the head in person. Tragically though, I've instead wished you a fantastic Monday. Have a great week Chris!

I trust this is the end of the exhilarating head kicking exchange. Thanks.

Cheers, Frogland. I think people often feel the need to take a position, whereas often there are both imperfect and also understandable aspects on both sides.

Now let us all sing Kum Ba Yah

In the states, if you trespass on someones property aggravated or not... you can be shot...no magistrates involved

Or indeed when you trespass on property that someone just decided is theirs. If they don't infect you with Smallpox first.

Yeah, that's their story.

Very rarely do 7 men go out and kick f*** out of a random family having a quiet dinner. Looked more like two groups of lads having a tear up with the compulsory couple of drunk birds screaming "leave it Terry, it's not worth it" to me.

And as for you:

You've called me all sorts of names and insulted my wife and kids before offering me out for a straightener.

Instead of supplying a time and place, you're now wishing me a nice day and begging for the matter to be at an end.

Whatever mate. Hell of a climb down even by keyboard warrior standards.

Sigh

Anyone that doesn't agree with you automatically is bonkers, you have always made that clear. And as someone that believes in cerebral hygiene there is zero chance anyone can convince you to agree with them.

As a Judge I would have thought you of all people can see that the protest was not viewed as illegal and therefore presumably the threshold for being aggravated trespass had not been crossed. There is plenty of precedent on this issue, both in UK law and also from the UCHR.

Blah blah blah.

What you are actually saying is that you hate the Tories and you sympathise with Greenpeace protestors, so you will try to find any excuse to justify her actions while at the same time besmirch the character of Mark Field.

It's so much easier to be honest than bore us with your usual apologist dance.

You really are in a grumpy mood aren't you. I expect it's a bit warm for you.

No, I hate very few people. I do believe people should be able to protest. And this is the BIG one. It really really matters. Even though Trump says there isn't a problem.

Field was being obnoxious thinking he was being a clever hero. Bad judgement. I don't know him personally. What I do know is that I am not besmirching his character, all I have said is factual. He did not act in an appropriate way, especially given he is a Solicitor.

In addition the lady concerned was within her rights, otherwise I am sure she will be convicted of a crime. The ECHR is very clear on how this should be treated and the UCHR has given a strong opinion.

And finally, as the UCHR makes absolutely clear, sometimes there is a greater interest in pushing matters to the limit, significant change is normally not an evolutionary thing.

You do come across as a hate filled agitator with no empathy for his fellow man.

This is proved by your spin on what happened between fields and the protestor.

It's simply not what happened.
