Agreed, and we looked good at the end of last season with Batshuayi up front. Disgraceful for Hodgson to have to start this season with a worse squad.

The striker situation is really where the current problem is and yes, no Batshuayi means fighting relegation at best, maybe, or probably relegation. But what do we do with Benteke? Keep playing him without playing to him?

Something has to change on the striker, the tactics, or the manager. Up to the club and Roy to decide.

It could be due to playing a winger as one striker and repeatedly trying to pass the ball through the defence to a striker with a terrible first touch.

Despite his inability to learn, the most worrying thing about Roy is how content he seems to accept a narrow defeat. He knows that if we rescued a point yesterday no one would really remember, but if he rolled the dice unsuccessfully and lost 2 or 3 nil pundits would be questioning his ability to remain in charge.

He's the only thing we can currently change. Sack him as soon as we find a decent replacement. Could be our only chance of getting Zaha to stay.

If they decide to get shot of Roy, in all honesty, who could we get in? Do you/we really think a new manager would help??? I have my doubts.

We need someone, anyone, that can actually rev up and motivate the players.

Getting Zaha to play to be precise. I donít think Zaha isnít interested. I think itís because heís not a supporting forward, or any forward, weíll not in this team.

The formation needs to go as well. 4-4-2 is so s*** for us, and we have however many central midfielders. We have 2 wide players, 1 of which he plays as a supporting striker.

Itís all fvcked. Either Camarasa comes in and it clicks, the formation is changed, we supply lots of early crosses to Benteke or we sack Roy and get someone in who will.

Iíd go 4-2-3-1 asap. Oh no, thatís probably Freedmanís pitch to Parish.

But my money is on trying to keep it tight and somehow getting enough 1-0 wins either side couldíve won. But will it work? Man Iím bored with it.

This is compounded by not strengthening in the summer as he hasn't been able to produce any rapport with the current strikers. In fact there doesn't seem to be any link up, up top. A new head might well of changed this, a new manager less likely but still could, as they will be saddled with this dysfunctional squad until January.

Play Ayew I say. Won't score like Batshuayi but he's at least comfortable with the ball at his feet, works hard to win the ball, always seems to draw a lot of fouls and yellow cards. I think 4-3-3 with Zaha-Ayew-Andros up top is what's going to get the best out of our players.

Donít expect Roy to change his formation, he doesnít like it. He will play his tried and trusted players regardless, his loyalty to players is his Achilles heel.

I think the time has come for Parish who indeed was the saviour of the club for him once again to save the club by looking to sell his holdings in CPFC as its quite obvious it is now beyond his capabilities and financial clout to manage this project any longer. The same could be said about Roy who has started to look old and tired with no tactical awareness when things are going wrong , it is no longer acceptable for a team to go out looking for a draw every game , ESPECIALLY when Hodgson after match interviews starts saying he thought the team did well, this is a manager trying to justify his decisions which we all know were wrong . The sporting director should be sacked as a waste of space with nothing to contribute in the past , present and most likely the future.

The players if chosen and fit will play its up to the manager or coach to determine who plays and how they play and to what plan, Roy fails in all 3 of these areas as 4-4-2 seems to be the limit of his coaching.

Finally Mr Parish has gone extremely quiet over the last few months any ideas why?.

There is no need for much debate on the reasons for our poor form so far.

We lost a loan striker and failed to replace him. What we have is useless and we also sold arguably the best right back in the PL and reverted to an inferior player. The players we did bring in arrived at the last minute.

If we had been anything other than useless it would have been a much bigger surprise.

We have got exactly what it was easy to predict.

I can't see how will score goals so I expect us to be bottom three all the way till Christmas.

Apparently, we didn't spend money because everyone knew we had some.
So maybe we will spend it in January when, as everyone knows, clubs just want to give their players away.

I mean, the best strategy is to wait until you are in big trouble and then have to spend in a very limited and inflated market. Genius. Maybe we will loan some strikers who can't get in their own teams. Fantastic.

What a joke.

But we did tend to have a 4-3-3 shape at the end of last season. The difference was that we had a striker whom Roy could rely on.

Yes, Roy can be infuriatingly stubborn sometimes, but on the whole I don't think he can do much more than try to squeeze enough points out of a squad with major deficiencies.

There is always someone who is happy to ignore the criminal lack of signings and total ineptitude of our existing strikers and blame the manager.

In fact, Hodgson is one of the few positives about our club right now.

I hear what you're saying...to a point. But even with the squad he has he's not picking the best players for the job in the right positions...Max Meyer on the wing FFS?
