Painter, just an observation... and I stand to be corrected. The front of the singing section is row 20. This about 25 meters from the edge of the pitch. How far do you think a rolled up piece of paper can be thrown? My point is the paper is very likely to have been thrown by the front 10 rows. I was in the Arthur Waite so could be wrong though.

Another poster has already confirmed the Schmeichel chants came from the back of block C.

There are some who will blame the HF for everything.

Sorry not into semantics of the aerial velocity of paper.

Nor the semantics of "semantics", it would seem.

(I am as very sad as I am pleased with myself, yes.)

Perhaps not, but do you accept that its unlikely to have come from the singing section?

does anyone know the GSM of the paper? The higher the GSM, the more likely it would be to reach the pitch from further back given the additional weight - possibly even row 20. From the pictures online, it looks to be quite a sturdy ball of paper rolled by someone with big, strong hands - not the work of normal-sized children.

Well you can't accuse someone of doing something and then just ignore the fact that they probably didn't do it. People are too quick to react negatively to things and blow it way out of proportion to make their point.
Firstly, Schmeichel wasn't that bothered about the paper or the songs. He didn't say to the ref he was scared or worried for his safety. Seeing as technically he is the "victim" in all this and even HE wasn't that bothered then I think people should just move on.
Secondly, Vardy gives as good as he gets and fair play to him for his celebration. Especially as it's not his fault his wife has put him in a position to get abused week in/week out.

He's hardly going to say if he is scared or bothered in front of 26,000 people is he!!!

Row 18 in fact.

Some of the paper came from the singing section but not anywhere near the majority. It seemed like some came from the upper tier too, just an occasional ball from anywhere within range. People got angry with Schmeichel when he kicked the ball clear out of the ground on purpose. The paper was travelling extremely slowly through the air and was in no way a danger to anyone. It is of course the Singing Section's fault for giving everyone a piece of paper, the temptation was just too much for some - clearly vicious anarchists

Thanks for clarifying. Perhaps they should hand out that singing paper to the whole stadium, that would help the atmosphere! ;-)

If it helps I can confirm that a season ticket book cover thrown from Row 30 of Block D will happily traject to the front goalpost.........

No, fair point. But I've not seen anything about it from him since - or even his manager.
