I was in the Main Stand yesterday and thought the singing section was loud and visual, particularly the HF bounce. HF seems to have swelled their numbers too. Overall I thought it was a vast improvement on them being stuck in the corner. The only disappointment for me was the lack of a first home match display, bunting, confetti whatever.

I’m new to the HF and throughly enjoyed our first game back. The drum wasn’t too loud but my old man did struggle keeping up with the jumping about. My Apple Watch told me I had completed my daily exercise by half-time.

There are a few people in there that seem to have signed up to the wrong thing and don’t seem to be getting involved with the chants as much as B block use to.

The original guys were great, very welcoming asking names and talking about going for drinks. It’s something that will improve with time, hope that the other blocks will start standing and we can really create something special to be proud of.

Is this an ironic post?

Apple watch ffs. This is everything that is wrong about modern football. Block B was organic. This is now cultivated, blokes turning up and either being bewildered by what's going on or keeping a step count so they can tick off their daily aerobics. It won't be long before they're selling tickets for HF experiences online.

Either that or it'll die on its arse by Christmas when people like Maple and your old man decide sitting down and watching the match is preferable to acting the arse for 90 minutes.

I really, really hope that they end up either side of Mapletree for the rest of the season, literally next to him.

Chuckling at the thought of him having to pretend he's enjoying being a part of the HF when really he's dying inside lol

Thanks for all the love

They are both immediately to my right, only one chap between me and them. But my son is a professional drummer so I guess I can manage eh?

I enjoyed yesterday, just as I have enjoyed my time in the singers for each of the past five decades

It's a shame you haven't experienced that and never will. Maybe you could try following Watford, it's all so CIVILISED there.

Yup, I thought that was odd.

There were loads of flags but mostly they were lying on the floor, don't know why

Hehe, touched a nerve.

You're absolutely dreading Villa, admit it. I'm going to donate a third drum on the condition it's directly behind you.

Long standing season ticket holder, didn't renew last season due to family commitments/travel/work. Still made 10 away games and 2 at home.

I have no intention of going to any home game this year.

If you take the position of "you can't have an opinion on the atmosphere if you don't go" then it's a short road to "if you don't go you can't have an opinion on palace"
Personally, I don't see why you would think that regular, unflinching attendance qualifies you to have a more valid opinion. It doesn't. I've met American and Norwegian fans who have never been but watch every game and have a far superior technical understanding than half the die hards on here who go to every game and seem to be mesmerised by a handful of odd balls banging a f***ing drum. Says it all.

Quite so.

Some people watch football and get into the technicalities.

Others also buy into the experience and the passion. Especially at Palace which has a strong local flavour and inclusivity. You are encouraged to be 'one of us'. Unfortunately that is hard to understand for aggressive individualists who have no experience of sharing and caring and who are demeaning to those they don't know, assuming they are all self-obsessed and stupid.

Inclusive?

What part of stealing seats is inclusive?
What part of a generous, caring, sharing, inclusive nature did you show when you sold your mates down the river comrade?

The absolute nerve to spout that old pony and suggest I'm the aggressive individualist. Take a look in the mirror.

Cool

But donate it to us and I'll have my son play it.

We are really looking forward to our next go at this, it's a bit different. It is also pretty energetic, I don't have a Fitbit so can't quantify. Maybe you could buy me one when you get the drum, then I can report back.

You are welcome to join me some time when the lad isn't available by the way. Bring your own ear protection. And Stirling, I previously offered you a Spurs away ticket for last year. I'll get you one if you like for this year, or West Ham. We probably won't go to Norwich on 1 Jan so you can have two for that game.

Did I suggest that? Well, if that is how you wish to take it.

Nope, never knowingly sold anyone down the river and generally take the hit for others if I can.

Now life moves on. We enjoyed ourselves yesterday. But then we aren’t ones to see the worst in every situation.

You shouldn't be there out of principle.
