This post has been merged from a topic called 'VAR so far...' by bexleydave As the OP suggests the lino may have flagged due to home support pressure . In the same sort of way that you would never expect to get a pen at Old Trafford or Anfield VAR can only even out on the side of the not so big clubs (that's us ) and is why I support it . Not because of the technology but more that I don't trust the officials to make the right call under pressure .
And we still need a striker |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'VAR so far...' by bexleydave VAR has been great. It is always a big reason why the league table is now looking a lot more even. The big boys are not getting all the decisions going their way. It will go for you and against you but I would happily wait 90 seconds for the correct outcome.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'VAR so far...' by bexleydave Officials have been advised if they are not sure if there is an offside let play go on and if there is a goal then put your flag up. I'm sure this was what happened yesterday. I only saw this on TV and there is no way an official could say for certain if this was offside or not.I understand that when this is so they give there decision to the attacking side. Personally I was against VAR and I still are. There are still many decisions like fouls that VAR is being used for but in the end are being discussed whether the decision was right or wrong like Liverpool's penalty yesterday.

The VAR officials probably got their decision correct as their wasn't a 'clear and obvious error' made by the ref. With VAR we now have two things to talk about in if there were any mistakes or not but the ref's is the most important where fouls are discussed so as you say big clubs at home will still get away with close calls.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'VAR so far...' by bexleydave People act like such precious princesses over VAR, never happy. For years it's been.. That was miles onside VAR comes in and, when it's called on, give the correct and fair decision by analyzing each phase. We don't want to wait we want it all instantaneous and NOW. Grow up. As someone else says as long as it gives the correct result 90 seconds is nothing.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'VAR so far...' by bexleydave i have always been of the opinion that over the space of 38 games decisions even themselves out. VAR will only help this happen. you can pick all the holes in it you want...but i think on the whole its a good thing.

The player clearly dived and should have been red-carded. Just when I was getting happier with VAR. The ref gave it under Anfield home team pressure, thought VAR would have seen the end of that. Plenty of work to do.
