Perhaps its a cunning plan. Ferguson will have a knee op while being paid by West Brom. And by the time he recovers in the summer he'll be a free agent and we snap him up for nothing?? Or perhaps not !!

That's what my blind optimistic head is telling me!

You've got to laugh really (otherwise you'll cry). In the space of 24hrs a young RB who the day before plays 90mins fails his medical and then Conor Wickham passes his no problem! Vintage Palace.

Are we to presume that we have pulled out of a cheap deal for a highly rated teenage defender who has been playing for the team top of the championship at both rb and lb, also is tipped to become a cb, because he is not going to play more than 5 games this season and will undoubtedly be forced to retire and never play again soon due to a knee injury?

Just asking?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

We went for Kyle Walker Peters too, but we didn’t have a third one it seems

I could provide a list of about 10 young right backs

Out of interest, Matteo, has the club ever acquired one of your recommendations?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

If the guy needs knee surgery as has been suggested the deal was never going to happen even if was as good as Cafu.

You should read the article by Dom Fifield on the subject...very interesting. Dougie was apparently haggling over who should pay for any operation needed. West Brom medical team didn't think one was needed urgently and Bilic was very surprised as he had been playing.
We apparently sought advice form knee experts in US, known to our owners.
We should have signed him, he has a very bright future and we will regret this big time

Never put a Scotsman in charge of paying money for something by the sounds of things!

I think that he probably takes a lead from his boss who once took a prospective player out to lunch then made him pay for his own

Conner was a loan,=zero risk, the WBA player was costing Millions, with no insurance cover after failing medical, -the two transactions cannot be compared.

I did not know this, who was it?

I can't remember his name. It was about five years ago and the player made a few adverse comments at the time.

I'm sure some of those with better memories than I will come up with the name

The only player I can think of, from five years ago, that Lord Steve of this Parish assured us we were buying from Southampton, and of whom he was doing a lot of shmoozing, was Jack Cork; inevitably he joined Swansea.
