Interesting times when old loyalties that once seemed certain are nolonger so.

I've voted Labour all my life but I cannot vote for the anti-semitic shambles that is Corbyn's Labour Party. I cannot and will not support racism. And if anyone tries to defend the racism that's now at the heart of the Labour Party then they are completely deluded. Like many others I find myself unrepresented by any party.

I can hardly believe I'm writing this but I want Labour to get so badly hammered in the election that Corbyn and his Momentum chums lose all credibility and disappear so that we can start rebuilding a Labour Party based on libertarian socialism.

Excuse my stupidity, but so what. Who does the Government borrow money off? Our debt is 85% of GDP and to be honest I've never known anyone or country sending in bailiffs to collect this debt.

Yes there will be increased taxation, but again, so what. I will be hit by it, but it won't really affect my life and everyone else below the increase will remain as is and probably better off as the minimum wage will go up.

Where I do see an issue is in increasing corporation tax. I would prefer that to be lowered to almost single digits, but to actually collect it from the monopolistic FANGS as well as closing loopholes.

Greece.

As far as I am aware. Greece does not print it's own currency.

I don't know whether the 89 in your user name refers to your year of birth but if so you would be too young to remember a time in the seventies (I think) when Labour were expected to romp home in the General Election but their promise to renationalise the utilities and increase Income Tax rebounded on them badly as their traditional Labour voters refused to vote for a party that would hit them hard in their pockets.

Increasing Corporation Tax would have the effect of companies moving their head offices to more tax friendly places so we should be reducing this tax to attract companies to the UK

Greece operates a different type of economy as income tax is optional over there

We have £1.8 trillion in national debt and the welfare state is not far from complete collapse due to mass immigration.

Phuck GDP

I don't have an issue with those points. I would argue that the balance of power is the main issue. If you give the unions ultimate power, you're going to increase wages and ultimately have strikes. This caused the biggest inflation spike in history, along with the price of oil going through the roof too.

I agree with corporation tax, but it has to be the same for everyone. You can't have Costa pay 10% and Starbucks 1%.

My main issue is with the argument of 'borrowing' as a bad thing that should never be done.

Doesn't really answer the point. Greece would have to tax everyone 1000% to pay their deb off. Germany have basically crippled them.

Ok, but I'm not sure which party is going to 'sort' the immigration issue.

We will be getting this stuff from all sides.

Actually, after Starmer, are we sure he didn't say the opposite?

Independents often don't get to keep their seats, he looks like good traffic warden material to me.

He was a Labour MP and quit.

He knows what Corbyn really is.

Again, you are comparing a country that gave up it's ability to print it's own currency to us. That's comparing apples and sofas.

Probably the only thing that Gordon Brown did right was not giving up our real sovereignty.
