What a wonderful future we can look forward to:

What civilisation could possibly need babies and masculine men?

Not sure I see your point here.

Are there transgenders in the uk? Yep. Is this ad making an attempt to represent them and also increasing it's sales by appealing to them? Yep

I imagine you are a masculine man, so where's the problem.

Not to me.

He's talking about what is promoted in society and what isn't.

I dont remember homosexuality and trans being promoted in the 80s, when it obviously existed, and i dont think it is being promoted, rather accepted, as it should be.

Can it be over the top? Yes, but the world isn't full of straight people exclusively.

When it comes to individuals I've always been 'live and let live'. Someone's sexuality, as long as it isn't harming others, is their own business.

So I have no issues with the acceptance point.

However what should be promoted within society is heterosexuality. We have a reproductive rate of 1.8 per woman.....That's below the 2.1 you need just to stay still.

European nations need to promote heterosexuality and traditional masculine and feminine models.....What has been going on for forty years has been disastrous.

As individuals what you get up to is your own business....but young women and men are getting messaging that damages society as a whole.

There is merit to the population decline argument. Japan is a classic example of an ageing and falling population, however, you have look at the bigger picture.

The point was made on another thread that 1 wage would be enough for a household, but now we are working more and still having to borrow. There is also less time to be able to look after children too. The biggest employers in the uk are the gov depts and retailers/service industry. The hours and lack of flexibility makes a difference.

It does need further research i think, but how many people to we actually need?

Im just waiting for the day i can transfer my conciousness to a hard drive and go full cyborg.

Most of the decline in birth rate is due to straight educated women not wanting to have kids or having them later. Gay and Trans might affect things but not within 0.1. So I think you’re looking in the wrong place.

There's a certain level of truth to that as the reason.

However, that collective decision by women has come about in a culture that no longer encourages and promotes motherhood but does promote non reproductive sexualities as equal in utility to productive ones.....which is 'feels over reals' and a net negative.

For example, look at the reaction to the recent 'straight pride' event and compare it to the seemingly ever present 'gay pride' events and general promotion of the sexuality.

What I would want to see is change in emphasis towards promoting heterosexuality instead....promoting masculinity and femininity...women having children as the benefit it is......A move away from this atomised individualism...which was originally necessary for some for a recognition of choice and freedom.... but has gone too far and moved into the orthodoxy both legally and in education.

Interesting poll in the Telegraph where the British public back a ban on the burka by two to one.
