16 million+ add ons (up to 10 million) for Bowen is not an easy sum to pay, but this is the price when you deal with English clubs. I said it would take at least 15. All signs point to Bowen at least keeping his price in the future, if not even doubling it through good PL performances.

I'd rather have Bowen than Carrasco. It's not that he would cost more (salaries included), but Bowen is left footed and we only have Townsend there, who is approaching 30 years old. We need a young guy for the future. Bowen would be one of my top 5 picks for players U23.

None of these players would come to Palace. They are set for Top Champions League clubs and cost way over 40 million.

Malcolm has just been signed by Zenit from Barcelona for 40 million.

Youngster Kulusevski of the Serie A signed by Juventus Turin for 35 million.

Many are not even left footed, like Ismaila Sarr, who cost Watford 30 million and has only recently started to show signs that he fits in well.

The ones playing in Brazil (18-19 year olds) and in Argentina are set for clubs like Real Madrid or Barcelona (like Rodrygo and Vinicius were) and are very expensive.

Argentine winger Emiliano Buendia from Norwich is also right footed and they wouldn't sell at this point, still trying to stay in the PL.

Reiss Nelson from Arsenal has had a drop in form in the last year.

Danish Robert Skov cost Hoffenheim about 10 million (so not much) but is already 23 and has a pace problem.

Same pacing problem for Belgian winger Lukebakio, who gets the job done in terms of scoring for Hertha, but others must run for him too.

Brais Mendez of Celta was in the Spain national team last year and cost more than 30 million, but has done nothing this year and his team might be relegated, unknown if he could adapt to Premier League pace.

Carles Perez, youngster of FC Barcelona, is a little overrated just cause he comes from Barcelona. Either way, he went to AS Roma, not a club like Palace.

Portuguese youngster Trincao has contract with Braga until 2024, so high cost.

So that just leaves a few players for the level of Crystal Palace.....

Still gutted that we didn't get Harry Wilson (gone to Bournemouth on loan) when we could have.

Then there are also Calvin Stengs, Andres Skov Olsen, Suleymanov, very young players (20 yo). Just like Bowen, they are all born in December!! It's like a given that all the affordable players for Palace in the right winger position were born in December. Bowen in December 1996, Calvin Stengs in December 1998, Skov Olsen and Suleymanov in December 1999. Because of their youth, the others would cost 15-20 million as well.

Calvin Stengs has recently been the "hit" player of the Netherlands national team. His club AZ Alkmaar id doing well in his country, second behind Ajax Amsterdam and also in the Europa League and he was given a start in his first national team match at the age of 20 yo, in which he scored and assisted. It's rumored they want at least 15 million, but he is one for the future.

Skov Olsen had been the top U21 goalscorer in all of Europe last year, in his Danish league. Went to Bologna of Italy for as little as 7 million. Wonderful investment. They don't field him as much though, cause they also have Orsolini in that position, who is an Italian national treasure youngster and cost them 15 million. So Skov Olsen has often found himself on the bench, though he comes on always and since autumn he has been the top scorer of the U21 qualifiers for the next European Championship. Amazing at both club and national team level by the age of 19, you'll certainly hear of this player in the future and he'll be worth more than 40 million. A 12-15 million bid and Bologna would make instant profit and might sell.

Suleymanov is the young Russian player for runner-up in Russia FC Krasnodar. He scored a hat-trick against FC Porto in the Champions League qualifiers and eliminated them in the summer. But not only that, he has proven himself also reliable in the Russian league and for Russia U21. Krasnodar though say they wouldn't sell for 20 million. They supposedly had a bid from Germany.

Now Bowen....he is already 23, turned this December. His price is the same as for the others, who are 20 or 21. Well....normally it should be lower, but this is England. He thicks other boxes, such as home-grown player.

By the age of 21 he had not achieved so much. He had 15 goals and 3 assists in 3500 minutes in the 2017/18 season in the Championship (at that time a similar league to the Danish one and below the Russian Premier League).
Then, last year, he had 18 goals (without penalties) and 4 assists in 4000 minutes. This year (with the Championship having grown as a league) 16 goals and 6 assists in 2700 minutes, though 700 from more advanced central position. He is getting better and looks good for a 23 year old.

Other 23 year olds with similar results in Europe are:

Tsygankov (born in November 1997), Dynamo Kiev's player, who was watched by Tottenham closely, but he'd also cost 15 million+ and frankly, I'd rather have Bowen

Raphinha (born in December 1996), Brazilian with Portuguese citizenship having played great in the Portuguese league and gotten to Sporting Lisbon and this summer transferred by now 3rd place in France Rennes for 18 million, so a similar price to Bowen.

Remi Oudin (born in November 1996), similar goalscoring to Bowen, practically alike in the recent years, but has just been transferred by Bordeaux from Ligue 1 side Reims for just 8.5 million. So, in terms of money spent, he would have been a cheaper option with the same possible bright future.

Matheus Pereira (born in May 1996), another Brazilian with Portuguese citizenship, who came to WBA on loan in the summer with an option to buy of just 10 million. Needless to say that after being the best player in the Championship this year, with 5 goals and a stunning 14 assists, WBA are going to pay the money and then sell him for much more to a PL side.

These are pretty much a handful of players who would be the best options as left footed right wingers in the years to come. Out of all of those, I'd honestly take Andreas Skov Olsen, I think he will become the most valuable in the future. But Bowen would not be far in my choices either. With Bowen in the team, Palace would really look like a good Premier League team and it would make it worth coming to the stadium and watching hi dribble. Scoring would improve, playing Bowen and Zaha and Jordan Ayew behind a competent center forward (Cenk Tosun) is something that Palace has not had in a looong time...

Robert Skov left the Danish league, scored 3 and assisted 4 this season for Hoffenheim, often deployed as left back, Cornelius left the Danish league, has 7 goals in 14 matches in the Serie A this season, Pione Sisto left the Danish league for Celta Vigo, was the 2nd best assister in Spain in his second year, Thomas Delaney (central midfielder), left the Danish league and was the best scoring central midfielder in Germany while at Werder Bremen, earning a 20 million transfer to Borussia Dortmund, Teemu Pukki.......left the Danish league for Norwich...no need to explain what he did, FATALITY!! Are you an old Mortal Kombat games fan? )

I agree that with curent investments and English money in the last years, the Championship has attracted more talent, but it wasn't so a few years back.

Sorloth left that same season you mentioned. You didn't need to list loads of players that didn't. I could do the same with players that have left the championship and done well couldn't I and we'd be here all day.

Maddison, Joe Gomes and even Gareth Bale left the championship for better things.

As for the MK comment. Are you like 10? Must be a kid or just very strange.
