We were linked to Welbeck a few years ago, maybe around the time he went to Arsenal. Back then I was excited about him coming to Palace. Now not so much I’m sad to say...he could have been a quality player. Might get shot down but would Sturridge not be a better gamble? Both injury prone but one has been prolific.

I read an article the other day that is Chelsea get all of their targets they will have spent £200m in this window. I think that is good news for Palace as they will be looking to get some money back so hopefully Bats will come our way?

Would love Bats, I think theres a chance a deal could happen towards the back end of the window. If theres no interest in him from other clubs hopefully Dougie can get negotiating, something along the lines of them contributing to his salary. His salary is a reputed £150k per week. I would not want us to touch him with a barge poll at that level. Also if we do sign Gallagher on loan I dont believe we can sign another player on loan from the same club (?) so would have to be perm.
