Getting Tosun was already more than I ever expected we would get. He's similar impact to getting Bats last year.

Our relatively lucky point total so far will make it less likely that we bring in any more reinforcements unless they are dirt cheap.

I'm sure the club is thinking we can scrape by with the current squad this season.

Next year, I assume Wilf is gone, we may have new owners, and it will be a miracle if we can replace Wilf with enough new talent to survive in 20-21.

But in terms of this window, I think we are all done unless something ridiculous falls into our laps. And maybe that's ok. We aren't a big money club, we can't spend big in every transfer window. I just hope we sign more players like Guiata and less players like Sorloth and Camarasa.

I suspect you're right, but don't forget the need to lay the groundwork for the "despite exhaustive endeavours by the recruitment team, it was extremely disappointing not to get this, that or the other deal(s) over the line" excuse on 1 February.

Fairly sure our US owners have instructed SP only to spend very small amounts of money. The only way this is going to change if we can get owners in who wish to invest and take the club forward. I am sure that our current owners have NO idea what potential CPFC has with the correct investment, stadium etc....

They know exactly the potential, you don’t become a billionaire without knowing their investments. The question is whether they think they can get a return on any investment in the stadium and squad. It’s pretty obvious the purchase of expensive high earners is unsustainable, hence the 2 youngsters purchased. I doubt they are going to hang around to see youngsters coming through, but see investment in the Academy as a good selling point.

All points are taken, however, you have to live in the area to really understand the potential CPFC has. You are most certainly correct and these US owners are not fools and want to see a decent return on their investment. But, only IMO they are walking a tightrope by not investing now to secure a longer PL status.
