Surely its not beyond the government to have digitally signed style voting in future..Its easy enough in the legal wold world of contracts. As long as you are registered to vote then you get a onetime link to logon and vote and so an fraud would be limited to how many times you are registered. BUT the results will be known much quicker. And it's a problem in the UK. There have been multiple fraud cases around mail in voting in the UK these are the typical scams: 1. Multiple non existent people being registered, in one case 30 people at a 3 bed semi. If you vote in person then the staff will recognise the same person voting multiple times or they have to find 30 people willing to commit fraud. With mail in votes this is not a problem for the fraudster, just pop em in the post. 2. Intimidation, this is the vast majority of cases local "community" leaders at the mosque, temple etc tell "their" people to ask for a mail vote and bring them the blank form. The voters are scared into doing this it wouldn't happen with a vote in person. 2a. It's not just community leaders how many abusive partners ensure the other half votes the right way. 3. Not eligible to vote. this also applies to voting in person but I thought I would add it here. The voter claims to be a UK citizen. Some councils don't check so if an illegal person or someone who simply isn't a UK So the question is why doesn't the council pick up on these blatant and widespread frauds. Most of these frauds are in Labour constituencies with Labour councils turning a blind eye. Voting should be in person and with your passport or driving licence with your nationality on. The only exceptions should be for the staff at the polling office, police and NHS. If necessary they should extend election day to 2 days to allow time for people to vote in person or change the voting day to the weekend. In short everything should be done to ensure people don't need a postal vote.

In spite of the fact that I see a clear connection between what resulted in Brexit and the election of Trump, as this thread is about the current US election, I won't get diverted into trying to explain my reasoning on Brexit any more. If you don't get it by now you are probably never going to. What I will say is that the apparent likely collapse of Trumpism may herald the demise of western populism and therefore will be seen by historians as the time the tide began to turn in how we start to rebuild our relationship with the EU. Starting with agreeing a sensible deal.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

I got to be honest i thought Trump was being a sore lower and fell for the media spin (never thought I would) this is rigged people who are counting are also filling ballots on tape.

Fox news has been anti Trump for about a year mate. Some anchors maintained support but the network definately didn't.

In most states they counted postal ballots last, and these were skewed towards Dems since far more of them voted by post. Nothing 'suddenly turned' in any direction because the votes were there anyway so he was ahead all along. On this topic, also multiple people were amazed that these were the few states still reporting and how suspicious that was. It would pay to realise that in fact the majority of States are still counting and that these are simply the ones in focus due to how close they are.
