Close friends of mine have come down with Covid again this week. They have caught it twice (in their 40s-50s) since being vaccinated.
Isolating at home because they are massively fatigued and cold, but guidance says they can go out shopping without a mask now. And give it to someone less robust than themselves.

Where's the data-led guidance now ?

who cares. We've given out Covid contracts and Knighthoods, now lets rip up the rulebook and get the f-ck out.

Yes, it does lurch from one extreme to another.. I hope they're soon feeling better.

As way of reminder people: your stated view is that no healthy person has died of Covid, vaccines have helped no-one, and indeed that vaccines have likely killed tens of thousands of people in this country alone.

By all means nobody's saying that you have to have this view or that, but as with every topic, your stances are such comic book extremes that they're a glaring reality opt out.

Thatís my view but if we donít know the numbers then why donít we after spending 100ís of billions of pounds and wrecking the country?

All weíve had is ďsafe and effectiveĒ and itís clear now that these vaccine have caused severe side effects and death. Why is that not being studied?

[Link] there are numerous studies taking place all of the time.

As for the impact of Covid, beyond the first lockdown which of course made sense due to the unknowns, I wasnt in favour of any additional ones. There was always the scope for financial abuse and so on, we saw that with the PPE contracts too. Of course Government policy has an impact.

Another important factor in the financial impact of covid that people often strangely appear to ignore is Covid itself. Even in countries like Sweden that took a markedly different approach, their economy took and continues to take a big hit [Link] This was a global pandemic, with a global impact. There's no wishing that away.

Every, Single, Time.

"The Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota announced today that it has received grants from The Rockefeller Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to create a Coronavirus Vaccines Research and Development (R&D) Roadmap aimed at developing broadly protective vaccines against betacoronaviruses, which predominantly circulate in bats and rodents and can ďspill overĒ to human populations"

Question nothing. Stay stupid.

FYI

Last week (Tuesday) on a group holiday I got a bad cold by Friday I was fine, as we were hiking I could not test for COVID as we were in the middle of nowhere.

Yesterday I was texted that 3 people of our group had COVID I did two negative tests but this morning I am feeling a bit worse and tested positive.

So I am unsure did I have COVID last week and spread it or did I catch it at the end of the holidays with the rest of them.

We took separate flights home so if I wasn't the source of the infection it must have been a restaurant or somewhere we all went to

Anyway it's just a bad cold. I still have a few LFTs left over but I notice they are now charging £9 for a box of 5, bit of a rip off.

If it was antigen tests you took. They test to see if you are contagious. over 90 percent accurate I believe.

So while you may have had covid last week you were not contagious.

However if you tested with a PCR then this would have shown you were positive regardless if you were contagious or not.

BioNTech, Pfizer to start testing universal vaccine for coronaviruses - [Link]

I expect most will be relying on natural infections going forward, however a more universal approach would certainly seem to make sense if successful.

Last time I checked werenít they aiming to create an annual combined vaccine for flu / COVID? Makes the most sense to me.

said the rabid giraffe whilst brandishing his throbbing member of reason, and twas ever thus.

Did you know? 95% of people are morons.

Yes, definitely. There is so much cross over in the vulnerable groups that it makes sense to offer a combined jab (as an option at least) so hopefully that will be an option for the at risk.
