I'm not sure that's what we've been seeing. But in any case, I hope we all come out of the other side of this relatively unscathed, and I appreciate that aspects of life being hindered or complicated due to the pandemic and measures that came with it can be exhausting regardless of a persons take or perspective. It will not be an easy year.

Like I said, we are where we are, and so it's best to try to move forward with an eye on a brighter day. Regardless of how tough a situation is, it does not have to always be viewed through the lens of relentless negativity or us vs them. This situation is not that straightforward, politically or otherwise.

We’re not in a commune yet. People are in different boats. I don’t go out a any differently than before 24th July was it? If someone wants to step into my personal space for not wearing a mask then I’ll give them what for and especially for spluttering near me.

I cannot agree with a masked up British culture. It isn’t right. If it becomes the norm every winter, which could happen, I’m leaving Britain. They can have what they want to create and I’ll be glad to leave. Or I could get away with hiking up in the country somewhere while the girls compare and touch mask patterns during their day out shopping I’ve seen a bit of.

Your perspective comes from a position of freedom and personal liberty and you've built your thought processes around that. I also find personal liberty to be very important, but more when its the government reaching into my life for their own gain or to erode civil liberties when there is no community aspect to it. Wearing a good quality mask makes sense for you and others, but I understand that you've decided that it interferes with how you view yourself. I wear an N95 Mask when out shopping as the cost to me is zero and there's a chance it will help protect myself and others. Plus it reassures the elderly. There's little down side, it's community minded.

You're adamantly against masks not based on rationality or how effective decent masks may be, but instead your personal feelings. If you've had a heart op you should definitely try to avoid the virus above and beyond ideas of 'not my country', or 'i'm fit'. Don't let your arrogance endanger your health. You do not know how this virus would impact you one way or the other and it has much higher hospitalisation and fatality rate than the flu you had that was pretty intense. Covid-19 is known to cause changes to the heart in a significant percentage of people regardless of the extent of their symptoms.

But anyway, people do as they do. The only situation in which I would act in a direct manner would be if someone was visibly ill and coughing while out shopping and couldn't be bothered to wear a mask in close proximity to others. That would go well beyond what is reasonable and I would treat them with the same level of disrespect that they were forcing upon me. I would hope someone in that position wouldn't leave the house anyway, at least without a mask, but as it's mad season in relation to what's important to people, maybe they'd decide that buying rice crispies is more important than other peoples lives.

'I'm leaving the country' is the pouting celebrity cry every time a party gets into power that's against their politics . There is little point becoming so hysterical about the idea of wearing a mask. If your threshold for panic and frustration is that low you'll be bouncing around the planet like a pin ball anyway, so you might as well stay.

Kids back at school, people at work, crowds back at sports in 2021, community spread, better treatments, likely multiple vaccines.. For the most part whoever is going to die or be badly impacted with something as contagious as this will have performed some kind of miracle if they avoid the virus until 2022. Beyond a likely winter spike, for various reasons we will start to have seen the worst of it and the masks will be flying off like an eager brides knickers on her wedding night.

If you’re wearing a valved FFP3 95% mask you’re going to infect people as well, which makes a lot of your community virtuosity a bit silly, only they won’t know, because, like I say, there are either ill informed, stupid, or simply virtue signallers about.

There are so many contradictions walking about so you’re not alone. Virtuous young people who meet up drinking with different people nights out before getting all opinionated during the day in their masks.

Look out for yourself.

I bought a few 3M FPP3 masks, some of which I've given out to family and a couple of elderly friends. They do not have a valve, as I'm cognizant of the importance of making decisions that benefit and consider others, not just myself. There's no point setting up a false premise then running with it as if what you've said then becomes the truth. You're making a habit of that. I know what masks I have for goodness sake. 'If you're wearing' then the rant. Just ask what masks a person has instead of using it as an 'in'.

As for young people, well from one perspective if they get covid-19 and get it over with they are less danger to the community. The same with schools. Where they live with elderly relatives that would be a concern of course, and a family worked solution would be preferable. If they proclaim that it's good to wear masks while out in environments that for many are not optional though, such as the shops, then they are at least thinking of others in settings where it's feasible.

Young people shouldn't need to tell you to wear a mask in a shop, you should be adult enough to just get on with it in the first place, rather than hurling expletives at your countrymen or hysterically saying you might leave the country because of being asked to wear a mask.

If people want to go to the pub, they obviously aren't wearing a mask. That's just how it has to be if they're to be open. If someone is elderly and doing their shopping they deserve to feel considered and to be made as safe as possible in that setting. Does this really need to be pointed out? All roads might lead to 'why bother wearing a mask' for you, but for those willing to put a bit of thought and consideration into other peoples lives, it doesn't.

What on Earth are you on about? I don’t communicate with people in supermarkets, let alone hurling expletives at them. I don’t even go near them. I haven’t seen anyone elderly in a supermarket because they’re being provided for, which I’ve been doing myself thank you, despite your accusations, and they go shopping at times of day I’m not there.

I was talking about young people meeting up with different groups of people on different nights in pubs. Makes very little difference if they’re wearing cloth masks in shops with regards to their potential to transfer the virus around, especially due to the masks only achieving a very small percent of keeping germs in. You’ve probably acknowledged this seeing as you’ve acquired FFP3 masks.

Most of the sanctimonious will have a long list of things they shouldn’t have done and can spread the virus but it’s all okay because they’ve done their bit putting a rag on and care because they might lower the transmission rate once they have a cough or a sneeze or Covid from mixing socially. Get over yourself. I know I don’t put others at risk and am doing quite a lot helping people throughout the whole thing. You and your high horse hey.

I'm talking about the 'people of this country are fvcking thick' and 'pussies' talk that pops up when anyone has a point contrary to yours. If you don't want to wear a mask when out shopping then just get on with it rather than issue hysterical threats to leave the country on account that others are wearing them. The NHS is there for people regardless of what good or bad decisions they make regarding their heath.

People have ended up led along a ridiculous politicised 'ma rights' path to the point where there's no limit to how entitled they feel personally, and how little responsibility towards others. There is nothing outrageous for instance in an elderly person in a store wanting or asking someone to wear a mask, or someone working in a confined environment. Their request is worth as much as others entitlement and the violence they are routinely faced with for making a basic request in the line of work is beyond disgusting.

I'd make a joke about Corona Virus, but 98.95% of you wouldn't get it?
It's over, open up & move on. You watch all this Bulls*** disappear like the morning fog If Sleepy Joe gets elected first week in November.

I certainly concur with your open up point because what alternative is there at this point. It's far from over, but thankfully eventually will be. Also, if sleepy Joe gets it he'll probably be heading for the big sleep. Trump looks more durable. I dare say, the only President in living memory who doesn't appear to have physically aged during his presidency.
