Although it would be funny to see the ref imposing a 2m distancing policy at the first corner.

Well we have been doing that all season.

I actually think the season should be finished if it can but when it's safe to do so - not done on the hop.

I did read somewhere teams were going to be put up in hotels for the duration but not sure if that is stll the plan .

Which will create it's own problems.
All the hotel staff will have to stay for the duration as well, or not be able to mix with their families...like that will happen.

Hey, where did we go days when the rain came?

Using hotels shouldn't be too much of a problem, all the hotels are closed (except the ones housing doctors and nurses) and if the clubs bring their ow catering teams to do the cooking then the hotels can operate with a minimum of staff. Also it creates some finance for the hotels and would ensure their survival.

I didnít know hotels for footballers away from family was the plan. If it is then the public will accept longer social distancing.

The plan, whatever it is, will be so full of holes because, unless there is a hotel lockdown, it relies on individual responsibility that footballers as a collective donít possess. Youíll then get covid cases and matches postponed. Maybe thatís inevitable but this season finishing is the first priority objective.

Luckily in our league position we can all look on without much concern, apart from clubs coping with financial issues without any money coming in.

Forget about hotels. The whole idea of starting up football in June with social distancing being observed is ridiculous. There would be no corners or walls to stop free kick etc
This Arsenal thing about training of one player on a football pitch at a time, why if they are going to play a game with 22 other people on a pitch in a game.
Football is so desperate for TV and sponsors money, it's a sick joke.

As I understand it, the plan is to test all the players so t he eh wouldnít need to social distance, then keep them confined to reduce chance of someone picking it up.

I think youíre right but I just donít see how it is doable.

There are just too many variables and people involved for the teams to play with even a remote chance of staying virus free. All the support staff and back room staff at a club let alone every other person involved in staging an EPL game, even behind closed doors.

Even if they get it started, sooner rather than later a team will have a player or member of staff who tests positive and then that will scupper the whole plan. I think they donít care too much as long as they have played enough games to crown Liverpool as Champions then they will be far happier to scrap the rest of the Season.

As Painter said earlier it is truly sickening to see their determination to try and carry on with the season mid pandemic when anyone with an ounce of common sense realises it should be ended where we are (like so many others have done) and try and start a fresh when things have settled down.

This is the premier league. Money rules. Ok!?

Yes it is however you criticise it, unless they really do have the players locked away for 9 matches. Is that really going to happen? 9 matches? I suppose itís only a few matches longer than a full World Cup campaign.

Will the players have a say?

Potentially putting their families and friends at risk won't please them.

I presume any social distancing rules will be relaxed generally as surely you cannot have one rule for a bunch of footballers and the rest of us adhering to another ?

If thereís no football then thereís no money coming into the clubs. If they feel theyíve been harshly targeted so far then theyíre in for a shock with clubs having no revenue for however longer itíll end up being.

There will no doubt be conflicts of opinion in squads, and then you have league positions in the premier league for players to consider, although voicing it only harms Liverpool in the prem.

I do not trust footballers to social distance for longer than 2 days so confinement in hotels is an interesting one. I expect the premier league want to get it completed but when they feel it isnít going to hall they have to keep showing theyíre trying to prevent legal proceedings by Sky. At some point the government bans the football and saves the premier league.

Iíll be surprised if we get this going now other leagues are being voided.

I for one would be delighted for players wages to come down massively.

The whole sport has gone mad.

When I was a kid I would watch a Palace one week and Fulham the next (f@cking relatives). Back then going to a game cost the same as going to the cinema, now itís probably 4 times the amount. Back then players probably earned 3 or 4 times the salary of an average bloke so were still in touch with the fans.

To be honest I canít really say the football is any better now. I still sit in the AW which has hardly changed, yet I pay through the nose to do so. The extra money in the game has just gone to players and agents and all at the expense of us the fans.
