BBC forced to issue apology to Reform UK after branding party 'far right'

The BBC always own their mistakes and apologise. Pity that others don’t adopt the same standards. Mind you It depends how far to the right it needs to be before that description is deserved. From where I stand they already deserve it.

The trouble is Wisbech, the default position of the BBC would appear to be leaning away from the central, neutral position and towards the left if they consider Reform to be far right. The BBC refuses to adhere to the view that Hamas is a prescribed terrorist organisation as the UK and others have declared. Their impartiality therefore comes under scrutiny if they start stating that centre right political movements are far right. My opinion, of course, but I think others would agree.

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.

well then i guess its not a mistake ? to film a period-drama..... and replace the whole cast with a bunch of minorities & Wokes ? With woke plots, woke storylines, and woke agenda items.

Fanatics are never wrong, dont make mistakes and never apologise. Just ask the Woke Pope, Gary Linekar.

Eze Peasy at Anfield....

Not reporting on certain things is a form of censorship. The BBC and legacy media are guilty of this.

It just doesn’t.

Along with a few others who adopt a strictly neutral position they don’t call people like Hamas terrorists in their own voice. They do though report what others, like the government, call them. They maintain neutrality. You see bias.

You see Reform as centre right, and me as on the left. I see myself as centre right and Reform on the hard right, whether “far” is accurate is opinion. It all depends on where you are yourself.

That is because you see things through the lens of bonkers.

Sorry Wisbech, I have to disagree.

They should have referred to Reform purely as a new political party, not a far right one. By stating far right it gives an insight into the mentality of the corporation; namely they have their own spectrum that they like to use.

I agree that it depends on where you are in your own mindset as to how you see others, but as a matter of interest where would you place the BNP or the National Front?

Most of us on here think you talk tripe 'far' too often.

The term 'far right' has no real meaning. It has become a buzz phrase to describe anyone who the left don't like. It conjures up images of skinheads, swastikas and nutty nationalists. It is designed to do exactly that, and it is used by people like you who have no real credible arguments.

It is an excuse for loony lefty thugs to put on their little face masks and attempt to silence opposition with violence and intimidation.
You know, the kind of people you regularly apologise for.

It is a way for the usual suspects to scare us into voting for the same old failed two party system.

But not before they are threatened with a legal case though!
If they thought it was wrong why wait ?

The BBC still claiming neutrality is a sick joke.

It is run largely by Guardian reading types, who probably believe the utter nonsense within its pages.

On the surface it tries to be all things to all people but fails to recognise that different demographics don't come in equal proportions. It fails the majority by pandering to minorities.

The fact that it considers Reform to be far right just demonstrates how far to the left it has moved.

No need to be sorry. We can disagree with honour. At least you are polite, which is a refreshing change.

It was obviously just one journalist making an error, for which the BBC apologised. It isn’t the official BBC position. Just describing them as a “new” party isn’t really accurate given the associations with UKIP and the Brexit Party. I doubt whether they would object to the “right” tag either as they are positioning themselves further to the right than the Tories. It’s just the “far” word that offends.

Where would I place the BNP or National Front? On the extreme right, or the nutty fringes. Take your pick.
