If this transfer and fee are true than I think it’s good business we have our money back that we paid for him, with a bit extra, which will go to another signing. For whatever reason Sorloth couldn’t cut it in Premier league, be it game time, the weight of the transfer fee we paid for him, the speed of the game. only he knows He has had one good season in a league nowhere near the standard of the premiership. There is no guarantee that he is going to cut the mustard at Leipzig

Just out on interest have you seen the loan deal, or the documents in respect of the sale to RLBand distribution of proceeds ?

As ALL the chat on here has been speculation I don't see a working knowledge of contract law is relevant unless a copy of the documents are in hand.

At the end of the day it will be much less of a waste of money than Wickham and IMO Benteke.

As Sorloth had already refused to return to Turkey he broke the loan not Palace.

I am amazed we have agreed a 50:50 split.

The Turks paid £5m for a 2 year loan which predominantly just covers his wages. I suspect this was being paid in installments too. I am amazed we've paid them more than £5m to cover that payment.
It's irrelvant that they had a purchase clause - it could only be activated after the 2nd season and he has only played one. Yes £11m is better than i expected, but clearly £16m is a lot better.

Anybody who says this is a good deal knows nothing about contract law - and there were many on here who thought we'd get zero only a few weeks ago

Let's see SP and the board trying to line up for a piss in the AW toilets at half time before peddling the new stand. We're the Arthur over here and the facilities are a disgrace

I agree with you Owen.

Clearly it was relevant what clauses were in the contract. It has become the basis of some kind of chess game with four players that each had radically different objectives.

We just don’t know the details of the stratagems. And how the contract created the playing field.

Yes I agree also, this whole situation is somewhat speculative because we do not really know exactly what the loan deal was in terms of the small print etc, clearly the fact that we could not break the deal was an error and has to be down to the CP legal department and its advisors, no doubt the truth will come out eventually but in the meantime it is what it is and we just have to be grateful that we are getting something back and as far as Sorloth is concerned we really did not give him enough support as a club to adjust from the Norwegian league to the pace of the PL but as I have already said it is what it is and we have to move on hopefully quickly!

Hi
as Ive stated, from club info, Sorlorth was wanted out of the Club by Roy, Roy did not want him back, Roy has a history of not understanding a NO 9 players role... stick him on the wing... So the deal was about as close as a transfer that he would not come back and Sorlorth stated in Norway papers what he thought about the way he was treated.. The Club brought Sorlorth for the future, but Roy threw his toys of our pram, because he wanted some one else. Understand the LFC history with his time there...too

and " club info " is what exactly?

Must be difficult for you to fuel your Roy hatred when we have 6 points from two games, best ever start in PL, but confident you'll find a way

Eddie - not only are you showing your lack of knowledge re contracts you clearly don't understand how loans work re previous comments (using your logic Swansea can command a % of fee if Liverpool sell Brewster).

I'll keep it simple - a player can only be owned by 1 club at a time. Sorloth is owned by Palace so all negotiations should be with us. A bit like a house owner renting his home out and then decides to sell.

Clearly the loan deal adds a complication but it doesn't change the fact, Sorloth is our player.

Yes people are reasonably happy we are almost getting our money back (we paid adds on for staying up in seasons 1 and 2) and it is clearly better than the 6m Euro deal but we have proved yet again poor negotiators.

Don't bother replying, your opinion is irrelevant

what a stupid comment. Clearly there was no clause re distribution of proceeds re a sell as if there was there would be no need to negotiate the split.

It is due to not having these clauses that has created the complications.

How hard is it to understand that???

What a rude and patronising response. You have absolutely no idea what was or was not in the contract and the negotiations could have been for any number of reasons.

If you wish to patronise people kindly make sure that you are on solid ground first to avoid ending up looking like a dork
