So we need to relocate to Divison Three South and play five forwards and no offside, sorry time has moved on perhaps you should move with it.

You sound like my dear wife who often calls me a "Stick-in the mud" irascible old chap who is stuck in the dark ages and is often NO lighthouse of joy.

Correct he only had 5 games in total with 4 loses and 1 win so that is a better record already.

losing 6 in a row is unacceptable

Based on him staying, which I believe he will, I do have concerns with him using young players who may join in the summer.
For example we are strongly linked with Eze from QPR.
He is very talented with good attacking skills.
However, he can disappear from games and lacks tactical discipline.
Not sure a Roy type player - at least at present.

I would have given us 4 points between Villa and Burnley and that is it. As it was, we had very bad luck with VAR decisions and Cahill plus, and this is the important bit, we had no crowd support and were virtually safe before the lockdown.

People throwing their toys about over our run of defeats and Roy's tactics is quite ridiculous under the circumstances.

Those 4 points between Villa and Burnley would have been acceptable as well. Trouble is, like all the other games (other than Bournemouth 1st half) we have been awful or played top 6 Sides who didn’t have to play at 100% to win. If we had got those 4 points together with the 42 we would have accepted that as progress. However not looking like we will get any points since that Bournemouth match we are heading for a bad next season.

There is a certain perception about Hodgson.

I heard the view expressed the other day that Hodgson would feel far more comfortable playing Chris Brunt (35) and Gareth Barry 38, next season, with their experience, than take a chance on younger players!

Grumpy, you are somewhat boring as usual, perhaps you could take some happy pills before next season.

I think that 'Grumpy' and I would get on like a house on fire!

Only the other day my dear wife said she would be looking for a T-Shirt for me emblazoned with the words "Miserable as sin".

Loss of Tomo has been a big blow at the back as well. My choice for CB pairings. However we do usually fair well at the end of the season, apart from Pards reign, where we took that form into the next season !?! With 2 tough games to come, right to raise a few eyebrows but we will have to see how we shape up at the beginning of next season. Hopefully with a solid back 4 and some new attacking options.

Roy Hodgson is a gentleman of honour and erudition and one of unimpeachable integrity. He is a pillar of society and someone who cuts a figure of dignified propriety.Decency oozes from every pore.
He is an experienced and well-respected coach with admirers from those in football around the globe.

It really would be a terrible shame if on the back of some negative results he suffered the ignominy of the sack or indeed relegation in what will probably be his last season in football, a game he has served with great distinction.
Let's hope this fate does not befall Hodgson and he can bow out with his head held high.

"I wish he wouldn't play the same players and the same way..."
Seems to me we have about 13 Prem class players a few who can step up for a few games and that is about it. I really don't think you can blame the manager for playing the same players and the tactics that will work for them.

Did anybody notice last night when we attacked with a few players how easily our slow defence were found out. Must have been 7 or 8 occasions when ManU were one ball away from an easy chance on the break. Yes, we played some attacking stuff which was great but were too easily caught out. This is why the manager chooses the tactics he does.
So for me, the fault lies fairly and squarely with our recruitment and the manager does the best job he can.

Yes, Kane, Iceland blah blah, every player, every manager, has the odd bad game, get over it!!!

I think it is important that any such thoughts by those on HOL are immediately banished.
