RBG has been ill for may years and Democrats feared this day would come. Obama tried to persuade her to step down whilst he was president and she could have cherry picked her successor. She refused as she is entitled to so the mess is all on to her.

Trump is entitled to pick a new judge and the senate is entitled to accept or reject it.

If this upsets the Democrats then they should blame their beloved "Notorious RBG" who to some appeared to enjoy the limelight too much.

You are still playing democrats and republicans when it is the presidents control of justice by personal appointment.

In our system we don't have all that, we don't have tory and labour judges.

A system where one person with dictatorial powers able to start war and appoint his own servants to administer justice, is already in place.

The USA is a dictatorship imo.

And you dont vote in a selfish way?

No, I don't and I never have.

I vote in what I believe to be the national interest.

That's what every responsible citizen does and, as your question indicates you don't, your own selfishness is laid bare.

Agreed it has always been an elected dictatorship.

And you better hope it remains that way.

Otherwise you're going to be swapping that US 'dictatorship' for a Chinese one and I don't think they will ignore your complaining quite like the US do.

Self awareness alert.

I am a member of the public so voting for my interests is probably the same as voting for the interests of 80% of the population.
The difference is that I am a realist and you are not.

It's worth adding that Obama picked Merrick Garland Republican Senate leaders would not even consider holding a vote due to it being an election year. Many have repeated that since but of course will now have a rapid change of heart on the issue.

And so that's the game we're now playing. I fully expect Trump to push someone through, and if Dems get back into power I fully expect them to expand the supreme court if they have both the house and the senate as that is an issue of law rather than the constitution, and so we have to wonder where the tit for tat will eventually lead.

Oh give it up.
The national interest. What a load of tosh.
So you would vote for your neighbours benefit even if it impacts you and your families lives negatively.
And yes voting is about what is best for you and yours.
That's what voting is, a choice to make your own life better. Not some dickwad who would never do it for you. Che guvara wissy ha ha.

I am saddened by RBG’s death as she stood up for equality and I believe in gender equality, shame that some people think that makes you a snowflake, suggest you try having the same conversation with your wives!

Go spread your hate and bad grammar elsewhere.

I'm the proud father of two children and I've been with their mother for twenty years.

Shows just how much you know doesn't it.

The House of Lords has no powers except to delay but yes why do we have that.

I have no idea what you're talking about and I haven't had a post deleted.

As for Ginsberg, we will differ on her politics, however my snowflake comment wasn't related to her....you are essentially commenting upon posts where you have no knowledge of the context.

As for 'conversation with your wives', what? If you are here just to troll at least make it coherent will you.

Yep, but god forbid we have another layer of paid elitist politicians.

It's getting to the stage where AI would be cheaper and make a hell of a lot more sense.....said tongue in cheek of course.
