We have to address the poor educational performance if we can do this the rest will fall into place. I don't believe FTSE companies are being racist but the pool of black talent is limited, we need to broaden and deepen that pool.

When given a level playing field they do well. I just put the first Director onto our Exec from an ethnic minority group. Without my efforts there is almost zero chance that would happen. He needed coaching, support and someone to merchandise him inside the organisation. When he got it he blossomed.

Wouldn't you do that to anyone? Or just because of their ethnicity, sounds racist to me.

I thought my point was quite clear.

It's no good complaining that black people are discriminated against for the top job if they don't have the qualifications in the first place.

This all starts with education, Mapletree says that the numbers of blacks going to Uni has increased ergo in 20 years time there should be a big talent pool.
