Are you surprised when black schoolkids do very badly? How do we expect to get the next generation of business leaders and professional people.

We have to address the poor educational performance if we can do this the rest will fall into place. I don't believe FTSE companies are being racist but the pool of black talent is limited, we need to broaden and deepen that pool.

45% of Black 18-year-olds across England were accepted to higher education in 2019. This was well above the levels for White and Mixed ethnic groups and the overall average (35%). The entry rate of Black young people has increased from 28% in 2010,
the largest increase of any ethnic group.

You only care about selective facts.

Laws are less important than the people who interpret the laws.

It's a point that those who think certain laws will always keep them safe should reflect upon.

Depends if you live in a country with a Napoleonic system or a precedent based system.

I disagree. I strive to be polite because it is the right thing for me to do, not because I 'respect' others. I lack respect for many other cultures and beliefs.

Well if everyone could bite their tongue and just be polite I would settle for that.

Might that be because companies become and remain successful by appointing the best candidates rather than meeting some quota target? Would they really sacrifice profit to fit some non-diverse agenda?

I regularly observe people under-estimating those from ethnic minorities.

When given a level playing field they do well. I just put the first Director onto our Exec from an ethnic minority group. Without my efforts there is almost zero chance that would happen. He needed coaching, support and someone to merchandise him inside the organisation. When he got it he blossomed.

but you seem to think its ok for a gang of urban yoof to call one of your elderly relatives a Gammon ? much to their amusement and derision.

do you think the streets of South London are above such behaviours ?

i pity your PC delusions.

I think that expecting a certain level of civility from people is more than reasonable. As to the feral scum who abused your relatives, then I have no answer other than to condemn them but ultimately, their behaviour, whilst clearly disagreeable, is all the proof needed to see why we have to rise above it.

They are not our equal. Need to view them as you might a rabid pack of dogs. We don't bark back at them.

Great so in twenty years time they will have the right level of experience to be a CEO.

It's true, I distinctly remember telling you at the start of Covid that minorities would be amongst the highest groups to be infected.....something that caused you much annoyance if I remember....you definitely underestimated them.

Only for myself to be proven right once again.

Why wouldn’t it happen?
