Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Whatever he does he says a little prayer before every game. He always has done. If we should keep religion out of football then surely he shouldn’t do that either, along with all the players the cross themselves when they come on the pitch or score right?

But these are personal acts - they don't hold up the match ko so everybody can watch them.....doesn't really count as bringing religion into football.

Would you ban 'Abide with me' from the Cup final under that idea too?

I wouldn’t ban any of it! I don’t have a problem with it whatsoever. It was eagleman13 so said we should keep religion out of football so you need to ask him about Abide With Me as that would have to go too.

Most fans who are against this are, not just because they see a different perspective of the gesture, but because it is enforced upon them.

If players decided to walk on the field and make an individual gesture of kneeling as their own tribute to whatever they say they are supporting this week then crack on. But it should be done as a personal gesture, not preaching.

Muslims praise to Allah. Not sure what Benteke is but he always has a mutter and looks up before he plays, Joel squats, Catholics cross themselves. All personal gestures which are not designed to be shared directly with the public.

But when the public are forced to watch something right before the whistle that has nothing to do with football then they become understandably irate.

It’s not up to the players to decide which of the sponsors’ products are acceptable.

I’m not sure players with egos like Ronaldo and Pogba really give two sh*ts about that.

Me either but the sponsors might. So might EUFA.

English Heritage have condemned Enid Blyton

The Globe are scouring through Shakespeare to try and de- colonise his works

Goldsmith College have added “ racial trauma” to reason for deferring exams. Fine if it personally affected you but this is going to be self-certified. Students can use events abroad, which does not personally affect them as a reason

Where will this end?

Scary stuff isn't it.

Our institutions are increasingly run by cowards, fools and foreigners. That might help explain it.
