BTW too early to post. It would be a long time before any clear evidence came through on impact even without covid. I still live in a deluded hope that we emerge in some brighter and better world and I have to freely admit that I was wrong. The alternative is too miserable to contemplate.

I had the debate about work opportunities with a friend of mine - she'd spent time living and working in America, and me in Africa, so both been overseas in places with no automatic rights to live or work, you just need to show that your skills are essential. the idea that booze and fags are an important factor for some, and with such vitriol is slightly terrifying

Fair comment. 6 months to see if the teething problems are sorted and 5 years to see if the economy is booming or suffering I would say.

Tell us what you really think As with any decision, it is useful to ask people why they voted as they did and apply at least some thought to that, rather than solely apply such shocking and absolute broad strokes.
