It might have something to do with the police being responsible for that killing.. just a small difference, like.

Oh that chestnut. I'm sure that idiots family wouldn't be as rich though if it was just another black guy who killed him.
Black lives matter (when killed by cops or whiteys)
Otherwise its just drug or gang related and s*** happens.

Did you swear out of frustration or because boris had a party.
You are young. when you are 50 odd and have kids of your own you will see the light. Hopefully not too late.

A bit patronising - age is far from a guarantee of wisdom, as you show us every day.

If someone killed one of your children, I'm sure money would not do much to soften the blow.

With all your age and experience, do you see no difference between someone being killed by the police compared to another member of the public? Is that what you're presenting?

Check out murder rates in Chicago, then tell me why floyd was so special! His family don't have total rights over grief.

But age buys you experience. It's not patronising if it's true!

When you state a police killing as newsworthy you have a good point. However, if you consider it to be more of a problem when a handful of people are killed by poor policing, or even outright murder by police, than thousands of people killed by another demographic, then how can that be right in any shape or form? The real problem is the murder on the streets in our own towns. There is not a major issue of murderous police officers - although, there have been a couple of high profile cases recently, admittedly. I would perhaps suggest some people are being hoodwinked.

I used to put the manager's name in front of Red and Blue but got fed up with changing it. If someone cool becomes our manager then maybe..

Red and Blue Army!

I can, for a third time, explain that the George Floyd case was different because he was killed by law enforcement.

A simple concept for someone with so much 'experience' to understand.

I get where you're coming from.

I'd argue that one 'problem' is just so much easier fixed than others - criminality at a societal level is complex, expecting the police not to kill people isn't.

However, broadly I think it's a fair observation - there are probably many people far too willing to jump in support of one cause without a bit of self-reflection on their own conduct.

It's a decent point that recruiting better police and better vetting should be quite achievable, although there is probably always going to be a rotten apple.
I wish I, or anyone else, could fully stop the kind of murders South London has. It will probably always happen to some extent. We have to wonder why it's worse now though?

(Somebody should blame Brexit here)

Poverty and a lack of prospects seems an obvious start - whenever times get tough, austerity measures increased etc. you will see a stark increase in violent crime.

(Brexit also made us poorer )

Stephen Lawrence was a saint. Murdered by a drugs gang for no reason.

More family breakdown, lack of fathers sticking around, no respect for women in the first place. You donít get gang members with 2 strong parents. Thereís always been poverty but there was a clip round the ear, some fear and respect for elders and some discipline in school as opposed to children calling the shots and knowing they can get away with it. The amount of teachers needed at bus stops now tells the story.
