The worst case scenario for us is the premier league and Uefa caves , which they will, and gives the big clubs more power. It will mean the big clubs become even more dominate, Arsenal can waste even more money and be more abject and still finish in the top six.
Even if we in we can incrementally improve our financial status through the stadium development and academy we will be bit part players to the ‘big 6’ and if we look like we are going to challenge them they will change the rules again.
I’d rather a proper competitive English football league with out the big 6 then be stuck as one of the 12/14 other teams that make up the big 6 premier league show.

Speaking as an Irish supporter would happily see it as it might mean they win a game but Uefa and FIFa aren't going to ban players who play in the ESL. They both make money from the big tournaments and Champions league. Who is going to want to watch Belgium Play England if you replace De Bruyne with Beneteke and Kane with Troy Deeney!

The problem with this (for them) is that a fan base comprising wholly armchair fans watching pay-per-view, means you have, on the one side, the Prem with its loyal fan base and atmosphere (i.e. one major brand element of our beautiful game) against what is already something of an artificial atmosphere of huge stadia packed with children and tourists.

On the other hand, the Covid experience teaches us that they will simply pipe in crowd noise, so you get filled seats + artificial "atmosphere"; and canned laughter never hurt the sit-com format. "Fans" will just get used to it.

What I hope it means is anyone owning up to being a "fan" of a rebel club will always feel the need to justify their support, claim to have been a fan since the 1960s, I'm not German I'm Swiss etc. Sadly, even that will evaporate in a generation. The big clubs will win in time.

Anyway, all academic. I suspect it is just a leverage tactic to ensure the bigger clubs get an even bigger piece of the pie e.g. if they stay, say the highest placed 3/6 automatically qualify for the ECL with the other 3 for the Europa League etc.

This has been coming for years. When you allow foreign interests to infiltrate your institutions this is what happens. The Premier is effectively run by foreigners and a large proportion of footballers are foreign. They have little or no allegiance, loyalty or care for England, or it's traditions.

Extrapolate this to our society in general, and you will get a good picture of our future thanks to g.lobalism.

I think the big six should be chucked out of the league and or subjected to a new tax which would be distributed to the other 14 clubs.

I think the timing is very deliberate. No fans in stadiums to protest, lots of clubs struggling financially, a period of great change happening all over the world.
