What I will state about Cooper is that he has only been a club manager for TWO seasons and not in the top-flight.

Our new manager will inherit a situation whereby a number of players are out of contract and many of course might seek employment elsewhere or be shown the door. There could be a significant turnover of players and the new manager will have to handle these pressures and still be expected to keep the club in the PL.

A herculean challenge awaits the new person in charge. Some might conclude it is a hopeless task,a fool's errand.

If it’s Cooper then he’d better hit the ground running next season with a decent start, otherwise the pressure will be right on him and he won’t have the comfort - nor the perception from others - of having been there and dealt with it before. Dyche or Nuno would have.

Perhaps the plan, if one can call it that, is to rebuild in the Championship, with the parachute payment and academy players in tow.

Dyche and Nuno have PL experience. Cooper has none.

Instead of saying what "some" might conclude why not tell us what you conclude?

How many of the teams relegated from the premier league this season had managers with PL experience ?

Why do we need PL experience, exactly?

Both Big Sam and Billic combined have plenty of PL experience. West Brom still went down under them.

Besides that, none of Tuchel, Klopp, Guardiola, Bielsa, Dean Smith, Arteta, Graham Potter, Hussenhattl had it prior to their current club.

As for Lampard, he’s possibly the worst candidate we’ve been linked to. He took pretty much equalled what Gary Rowett did at Derby whilst spending far more money & loaning a number of Premier League players. The 200m of players he was given at Chelsea just won the Champions League and he had them in 9th.

The question I've also asked. Also, it's a question of whether or not a manager can manage ANY PL club or whether they only succeed in certain environments. For example:
- Hodgson couldn't hack it with the big PL clubs (Liverpool) but did well at smaller PL clubs such as Baggies, Fulham and Palace
- Pellegrini won the PL with Citeh but bombed at West Ham despite the fortune spent on transfers
- Benitez did a good job at Liverpool but didn't set the world alight at Newcastle

IMO it's not so much a question of who but the type of manager who will function best at Palace. Of the ones so far linked with us I think Dyche and Ismael may be the best fit for us.

Or we employ an optimistic manager who sees the opportunity to bring in their own players and promote players from the youth setup. We desperately needed a clear out of high earners at the end of their careers who barely played. We now have significantly reduced the wage bill and have spaces in the squad for young, hungry players.

I have concluded that you do NOT care a jot what my views are on this matter, your comments are just another opportunity to launch another 'grenade' and demonstrate your animus towards me.

Suffice to say I shall refrain from engaging in any further exchanges with you and any questions or indeed persistent ordure shall go unanswered.

West Brom with Billic and Allardyce spring to mind. Cooper is an overhyped risk we don’t need. I’d rather have Roy back.
