Why would people apologise? There is every chance Lampard gets the job. But he's confirmed Sean Dyche & Eddie Howe are the next managers of Palace already, following on from a whole host of transfers last summer.

He also "called" Eze along with the host of other players we were heavily linked to in the press. It doesn't mean anything. And the fact he's claimed it'll be announced this week shows that it's all a wind up. Whether it's him winding us up or his mate at the club winding him up, who knows. But it really is farcical at this point.

The thing about Palace is, we're still a relatively "local" and "family-oriented" club, meaning a number of us have "links" at the club. Many of those "links" will "leak" things here and there. But even the sources closest to Parish & Freedman won't just get given the name of the manager. It doesn't work like that.

If it is Lampard then why did Andros say on TalkSPORT today that while the club would like him to stay they cannot offer him a new contract until the new manager had been consulted. This suggests to me that the manager has not yet been identified/appointed. If he had then it would be easy enough to get their view on Andros, whether he be Lampard, Cooper, Dyche or anyone else.

I think you also have to factor in that Roy Hodgson is I think still employed as our manager until the end of the month maybe slightly longer.
Therefore no announcement of a new manager will be made immediately anyway.

I personal will find that disappointing and uninspiring if this how far we are aiming our longest rein in the Premiership and we are still looking like the Grace Brothers out of “ Are you being Served” behind the times, stuck in a past time frame.
When you look at other clubs the likes of Leicester , Wolves and the progress they have made in players they have signed, ground development and of course making themselves look attractive for outside investment there is a massive gap. Don’t get me wrong Steve Parish has done a fantastic job and we have spent a lot of money in transfers but surely we should be aiming higher than a manager that has no Premiership experience.
I have had my moans about Roy only because of the style of football we have played, agreed he has done a fantastic job making us a mid table club, but now is the time to up the ante, why can’t we aim higher attract a manager of higher class that will make us a better looking prospect than a club that looks like relegation material even before a ball is kicked.
