I think it's about time they restructured it, people should be able to enjoy it in safety.

It's too late for this year but time it was taken off the streets or at least some of the streets and moved into a park, stadium etc much like the Rio carnival has now done.

I never felt unsafe but the crowds got too much. Along with roads being closed off and pubs all being stowed out it got less fun.

Yup that's what I meant very little crowd control I'm surprised we haven't had a disaster.

dad used to work the carnival on odd occasions (ambulance man)
it was the short straw, nobody wanted to do it.
Sometimes it would be behind a wall of coppers, getting pelted with bottles all day.
what morons attacks ambulance staff?
(probably worked with your old man , martin2412, on a few carnivals)

A good thing. Perhaps they can come up with a reason to ban it every year.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I still haven't stopped laughing from when they banned fecking anyone who wasn't already in your bubble.

When I first moved to Wisbech I could see that had already been policy for about two hundred years.
