Forget sitcoms, forget reality shows, forget opera, forget it all. And just enjoy politics. This s*** is real and is beyond comprehension. The Twilight Zone meets Carry On meets the Exorcist. The only 'Game' that truly matters. Where it not only all happens but actually make history.

I always harboured a suspicion that my interest in politics made me somehow sadder than most but I have come to the conclusion that I am just like every other common or garden punter out there.

And rather than obsessing over whether Dot Cotton is going to pull a train for the market stallholders or if some ludicrous petulant brat of a footballer is going to swap one multi-million pound contract for another, I wonder if Micheal Gove is in cahoots with Cummings over this interview or if Starmer deliberately scuppered Labours election chances by way of climbing the greasy ladder.

LOL.

This is politics as the most f***ed up South American soap opera you can imagine. And then some.

Cummings is getting plenty of airtime as a vicarious way for the MSM to kick Johnson.

I am no Johnson fan but Cummings has produced nothing tangible apart from the Hancock message.

It's all hearsay at the moment.

I suspect everything Cummings is saying is what he believes to be the truth. And it is glorious. But ultimately, Cummings is not a politician. Personally, I think he has one of the greatest brains of the modern era but he is man playing a different game to that of the people he served in politics.

Like a Chess Grandmaster trying to take on a top poker player. In a game of Texas hold'em. Cummings is clever but he should not be sitting at the same table when it comes to Johnson. Different rules, different expectations.

If Cummings truly held any sway then he would have done for Johnson months ago. As it is, he does not. Tomorrows chip paper.

interesting points you have made all along about Starmer, I do think it's more cock up than conspiracy with him though, he's just Tory-lite - Labour are scared to offend too many powerful groups, be they the media, business, bureaucratic management or the working classes! They lack any vision at a time when it is desperately needed. I thought there would be more under the surface, but it appears not - far too safe in his decision-making. And as for Cummings having 'one of the finest minds' - I'd say it takes more than narrow intellect to make a fine mind, no matter how clever we are we're all one small step from being an *sshole - and Cummings' total lack of humility and self-awareness make him not only an *sshole, but a dangerous one.

The most revealing comments by Cummings are the revelation that brexit was a vehicle to change power in the UK to his leave mates.

Leaving the EU was a cynical power game with the voters, as they often are, being taken for mugs.

That would be " claim made by Cummings ", not a revelation.

I haven't watched the whole thing so no view on if that's what he actually claimed.

We cannot be sure about that as the expected outcome was a REMAIN vote. It was a badly contrived, rushed and incompetantly handled exercise. The people responsible should have been held to account not allowed to walk away leaving others to clear up their mess.

As someone described him on the radio earlier today - a narcissistic megalomaniac!
For those who hate Boris it is manna from heaven but in anyone's eyes this is a dangerous man - acting like a scorned ex-lover or employee.
What he is saying should not be allowed - you just cannot have people spilling the beans on what goes on in Government - sorry - bang out of order.
I am sure that a tone of stuff gets said behind closed doors and some of it will be outlandish and not for public ears and that is the way it should be.
This will stifle democracy - the man is a turd of the highest order.

Why on earth not? More transparency and accountability is exactly what's needed within Government.

Caught up on the interview yesterday; he's an interesting bloke to listen to if nothing else - clearly got a personal mission to discredit Boris & Co. but I'd be very confident there's big portions of truth in what he's saying.

He's certainly right that there should be a public enquiry into the Covid response as soon as possible, and if the claims he's made are verified, there has to be consequences. I've no hope this will happen, but it should.

Nice of the BBC to finally question some parts of the Vote Leave campaign - only 5 years too late.

Peter Hitchens was right about the Tory party.

Then again, at least it isn't Kneel Starmer.

Yet.....nothing would surprise me.

To say that people who thought Brexit was a good idea had a screw loose is rubbish .
The last general election was a second Brexit referendum .
Labour could not see this and left there supporters behind and therefore they did not vote for them .
As for Cummings , he is acting like a spoilt child who did not get his own way .
By the way does he has a book due out ?
