May even be a V8 with the bonnet hump painted. It's a fuzzy pic though. Oh, and Kennards was in North End opposite Allders although it did close down first to become Debenhams.

It was the shape of the back windows that made me think Capri I was trying to paste a photo of a Mk1 Capri but could not get it to work - it does though look to be a bit short for the Capri?

That Mk1 does look nice though of I was being picky I would not have those spots on the front. If KingDowie was able to give an indication of the year of the photo we might be able to suss out whether it was too early for the Mk2?

I reckon it’s a tarted up Mk1 Capri. The early ones had a short boot, as in the photo, before the hatchback came out. Looks a bit Starsky and Hutch, albeit in blue.

It does look a lot like the original pic but the rear spoiler looks further back than it could be on this capri so I am still convinced it's a MKI Escort
