I am a feminist. Proudly so. Women are amazing and should have a say in every decision made in this country.

But still, tell us all more how you want to stick one up Emma Radacunu.

Maybe your feminism should be directed at Afghanistan and that religion. In this country women are equal, did we not have a female PM a few years ago? In that religion women are half a man. Where would you prefer your wife to live.

don't feed the Lefty Troll. He prefers to come on here and make a t1t of himself defending the human rights of a tennis player with the looks of a supermodel....and then going onto the Grooming Gang thread and calling us all a bunch of racists.

his preachy nature would see him survive approx 5 minutes in a village in Afghanistan. Marching up to the village elders and giving them a bo1locking on the need for gender-neutral toilets.

One thing with do know about Brexit, is that it has resolved the Tories issue of the undesirable right wingers it has. Whilst there were some very good reasons for Brexit, some just used it as a front to bash people of different ethnicities (a flawed view - you'd think they'd want to stay in the whitest trading block in the world). Now that minority of bigots have found without Brexit, the right wing of th Tory party has no campaign to use as cover for their opinions, and no longer has any leverage in the party. Now marginalised they will now moan about how the government represents the majority of the countries, in which they are outcasts because of their backwards beliefs.

Same thing happened with the loonies in Labour under Blair. Galloway, Livingston, Scargil all kicked out and couldn't come to terms with the idea that they weren't what the electorate wanted.

I don’t think that I can agree with you in your assessment that Brexit has diminished the influence of the hard right within the Tory party. Rather it has caused the left and central party of the party to leave.

The party is now focused around a pro-Brexit right-leaning core. People like Dominic Grieve, Anna Soubry, Ken Clarke, etc have all been pretty much forced out. The promotion of people such as Jacob Rees-Mogg, Steve Barclay and Thérèse Coffey into the cabinet is indicative of the shift in power.

Nothing much has changed after yesterday’s cull of the really dim and very incompetent, people that really don’t have a clue where they stand on anything unless they have some briefing notes from No. 10 and a soundbite to repeat, has changed nothing. The economic and fiscally literate, pro-business, one nation Tory no longer exists.

Just curious, why would Brexit lead to the break up of the UK.

If that is Scotland ceasing to be a drain on the rest of the UK then I for one won't be unhappy.

I just want the SNP out of Westminster.

Would also effectively be the end of any hopes Labour might hold of ever regaining power.

The premise all racists voted for Brexit is disproved by the fact Lammy and Abbott voted to remain.

All our elected politicians have been elected by a democratic process.
It is in my view a flawed democratic process, far better we adopt proportional representation.

As regards the liars and hypocrites, yes some of them are but I think no party has the monopoly on that and perhaps the worst culprit is our present PM.

I expect that analysis of the Brexit vote has been done to death already on this forum. What is clear is that London and many other parts of the country did not vote for it. Time will tell if it was a good idea. I think it was Rees Mogg that said we might not see the benefits for 40 years. Personally, I think that the next 12 months will reveal it to be the greatest disaster inflicted on this country since WWII. It will almost certainly lead to the break up of the UK.

As to whether any immigrants or people from immigrant backgrounds voted for Brexit, well I expect that some did. There are at least three members of the present cabinet that fit that description and they all supported the leave vote in the referendum.

When we examine who voted leave it would appear likely that all racists voted to leave but that not everyone that voted leave is a racist. You will need to read that last sentence carefully before you accuse me of calling you or anyone else a racist.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

In exactly the way that you describe. Scotland will leave the union, probably closely followed by a reunification of Ireland. This will in turn further increase the desire for independence in Wales. As a part of Scotland voting to leave the UK the SNP will link this to rejoining the EU.

As regards how this might affect Lobour's election prospects they have ceased to be a powerful force in Scottish politics and their chances of regaining the seats lost the SNP over the past three decades is very unlikely whatever happens as regards Scottish independence.

I would say that due to Scotland voting not to leave the UK (partially on account that they didn't want to leave Europe), it's definitely something that will factor into their thinking. I mean that's a truism really.

One potential problem of Scotland leaving, and the conservatives having their feet so firmly under the table going forward is that the government will be (even) less inclined to act in the public's interests. It mays to have a political environment where there is at least a chance for another party to get into power, even if it's not one we personally would like to. It keeps parties 'honest' (well as honest as they're ever likely to get!).
