There is a single solution. The UK withdraws from the ECHR. Any and everybody who turns up in the UK illegally is flown out for processing in Rwanda within 72 hours. Within a matter of days, the flow slows to barely a trickle.

That sorts it.

Sunak does not want to sort it. He wants to merely pretend he wants to sort it.

It really is that simple.

What happens after processing?

Withdrawal from the EHCR is hopefully a non starter.

Apart from being created mainly by ourselves it would be an act of self harm just like brexit itself.

It would probably invite retaliation and scupper the brexit deal such as it is.

It would destroy the new 'mood'.

Why. We invented it didn't we?

It is now being used against us by undesirables who want to enter this country to work here and pay no tax or become involved in criminality.

There is a proper process for those wishing to come here legally.
How can anyone think that any British government should just do nothing about it?
I promise you that a Labour government or even a communist one would take steps to stop illegals.

You my friend live in a perpetual state of delusion.

Why do you think withdrawal from the EHCR would make any difference.

We have paid 120 millions up front to Rwanda but only 200 places, that's if anybody actually goes.

Asylum seekers should be verified and processed speedily and accurately, the majority are granted, they should be allowed to work and pay taxes, not stuck in hotels and I guess now prisons.

As long as it is profitable they will be trafficked, that's the key imo, safe and legal routes should make the traffickers unnecessary and the 'trade' decline.

How do you suggest they are verified and processed quickly, when the vast majority arrive with no documentation to confirm their identity and Nationality? Did you not hear that Mystic Meg has died!
If they are not in hotels, they will need housing. If they cannot find legal work ( and therefore pay taxes) they will need benefits. Paid fir by the taxpayer, I thought you were against tax hikes?

If their claims stands up, they are allowed back. If not, returned to where they come from or else remain in Rwanda until such time as their return can be happen.

But the issue is, that just the fact of being immediately flown out stops them coming in the first place. It works. The model is based on what the Australians did and it worked.

However, Sunak has ZERO intention of this happening. It is as simple as that. All this tough talk is pure politicking. Literal window dressing.

Creating an illusion, primarily to put the kibosh on any internal Tory moves to bring Johnson back. Because Johnson might deny Labour victory come the next election. And that is not allowed to happen.

Sunak is a place-holder. Keeping the seat warm for Starmer. Who will then engineer us back into the EU within 5 years of taking office (my own bet would be a 'second' referendum in 2026, probably in the September meaning they can argue we have had a decade to see if we have changed our minds).

'Jeremy Hunt laughed at on mention of community swimming pool costs'.

MPs laughed at Chancellor Jeremy Hunt when he announced financial support for community swimming pools.

Earlier this week it was reported that the prime minister's private swimming pool in his constituency home in Richmond, North Yorkshire, used so much power that the local electricity network needed to be upgraded to meet demands.

You forgot to mention that the significant cost of the upgrade was paid for in full by Rishi Sunak

So it is only right that our former PM gets to utilise between 200,000 and 250,000 of our money to put forward his defence for why he misinformed Parliament but didn't mean to. Boris Johnson earned 4.8m last year on top of his MP salary and benefits.

I was wondering how come he had such top line Barristers, including a KC.

But the important thing is that he didn't really understand and they can explain that. Didn't understand what he asked everyone in the country to do on multiple occasions that is. He pretty fick innit.

Err yes. He lost his job but not satisfied some in Parliament still want his head, like anyone he is entitled to a defence and as this is not a criminal matter and solely a matter within parliament then yes the taxpayer should fund it.

The better question should be why is Parliament spending our money kicking a dead cat.

He probably is guilty but just like the obsession with Trump some people would rather waste time and money on this than on fixing the many problems this country has.
