Ah, presumably that's what's called "10th season syndrome"

Haha, good one, I’ll remember this post if we do go down next season and use it myself

With 33 points, even if we had a disastrous finish to the season and didn’t win another game, we still wouldn’t go down, we’d grind out another 3 or 4 points in draws which would keep us up.

And please no-one mention Oldham, because I know what happened, I was at Arsenal at the end of that fateful week after celebration staying up the week before at the player of the year do

Me too - I felt I had to be there, whichever way it went. But I didn't take part in any celebrations earlier in the week. On the contrary I'd had a sense of foreboding after we didn't seal survival at Man City in the midweek game.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I try to remind myself constantly that Palace is likely safe, is playing entertaining football, and it actually underperforming considerably. The lads are sixth in the expected points table: [Link]

We needed a point from our last two away games or Oldham had to win their 3 games. But you’re right, once we failed at city and Oldham had won twice, I think we all went to Arsenal expecting the worst. Especially knowing Wrighty was bound to score. Just had to prey Southampton could do us a favour

Worst one for me was when the Clowns scored right at the end to relegate us. Another reason to enjoy looking at us safe in mid table and them languishing in league one.

Charlton have lost 5 of their last 6 games.
About a month ago they were in 11th place, they are now 16th.

All in all a fantastic weekend.
Brilliant win at Wolves and we can start looking up the table rather than down and the bottom three plus Leeds all losing!!

When you sit back and think -
10 games to go and already on 33 points.
Quarter finals of the FA Cup.
New Manager
New team
New tactics
Jeez - it is actually amazing - more fool me for doubting us!

OK, we are not mathematically safe, but no way we will end up in the bottom three come May - Oldham or no Oldham. Let us do the double over Man City on Monday and add three more points.
