At the end of the day you Gott ask yourself, is he worth the wages... he hasn't been for a long time.

This was once a quality forum....

I wonder if there is a case to play Olise on the left and Ayew on the right with Benteke or Mateka down the middle.

I'd love to know if PV puts Wilf in the middle much during training sessions. Wilf is a better finisher than Benteke and Ayew (low bar) and he'll draw plenty of fouls if reduces his histrionics. Wilf is also better at receiving the ball – and making something happen quickly – with his back to the goal, than anyone other attacker on the team.

Agree - I really think he'd be great in a front two.

Benteke or Eduoard I reckon. But yeah, potentially.

Can you name anyone beyond Mitchell, who is on £15k a week, that are worth their wages.
Averagely their wages are about £60k a week, double the average national yearly wage of people in the UK.

If we play a front 2 it's got to be edouard and mateta, they gave Liverpool so many problems when we switched to a 2.

Some very confused thinking going on here. The club has two new fully signed up strikers already. Zaha has limited time left on his contract. The club can either run down his contract and release him, or offer him a new deal. Whatever, he's not a makeshift striker, because we have two new ones! (My personal opinion is that Benteke is being phased out and won't feature in PV's future plans, and Ayew may be kept on because he is willing).
Zaha is ironically the problem. Club legend, but as the expression goes: every dog has its day. Overpaid for what he contributes, and little sell on fee. Bad infuence and vibes on the team with all the constant moaning.
I presume Parish must have envisaged this day coming when he made Zaha joint top earner at the club, on a lengthy contract.

Not convinced Zaha is or ever has been a CF. He wont jump for a header, isn't great a receiving the ball under pressure, wont make runs in behind and despite the odd worldie isn't a great finisher.

He has always liked dropping off the defender, receiving the ball in space, facing up the defender and going at them.

He has been ok upfront in the past, because if he gets the ball to feet in a little bit of space he was dangerous, especially up against a 6'5 centre back.

However that was the Zaha of old.....he new Zaha doesn't want to dribble or take people on. So not really sure what he would be adding as a CF.

Disagree. They linked up for our goal...I can't remember these 'so many problems' you speak of. They're too similar (albeit Eduoard a much better version). Mateta shouldn't be anywhere near the lineup. Love the big man little man combo. Benteke/Wilf would be lethal in my opinion.

And £60k is just a few thousand less than the average annual pay for a surgeon in the UK.

You've just precisely pointed out why he's not a winger anymore. What good is a winger if they have an aversion to running at and beating defenders? Unless they're solely about getting crosses in...which Wilf isn't. So what use is he out there? I'd challenge your assertion that he's not a good finisher, won't make runs in behind or isn't good under pressure.
