Any event/sport that garners significant interest from joe public, is weaponised by advertising. I suppose it's naivety on my part to think politics isn't deeply enshrined somewhere. I think this World Cup in particular is so outrageously duplicitous, that we are shocked to find ourselves being 'educated' by that intellectual stalwart David Beckham, and given morality advice about behaviour by FIFA.
