We will. To my mind, the event described in the link has a different reasoning behind the refusal and therefore the legal advice could well have been that to refuse on that basis was discriminatory.

Oh but you DO understand, but for reasons best known to yourself you get off on being deliberately obtuse. If you read the article you would see a legal opinion that the cancellation is likely to constitute unlawful discrimination. Surely that is reason enough to be upset...or do you like to see people discriminated against?

That I understand that people sometimes think some people have rights, when they don't, whilst others they don't think have rights, do, is true.

That someone offers a legal opinion doesn't mean they are correct either. Nevertheless, the law can sometimes be an ass, so nothing would surprise me.

I've never understood why people get so upset by others not having the Covid vaccine but some people are just intolerant of any opinion other than their own.

When the health and safety of others is impacted by selfish behaviour I think everyone ought to be upset.

When only personal pride is impacted, not so.

What like landlords not servicing their gas appliances?

Upset that an injection which is no longer available for most and doesn't stop transmission wasn't wanted by some people. Sure. Nothing selfish about that.

The show has been cancelled because some don't agree with Linehan's opinion. How is that anything other than discriminatory?

I am not concerned about who needs boosters. Thatís a decision for the professionals to make at this stage of the pandemic.

My objections were to those who could and should have participated in our common effort to contain the virus, after we, and others around the world had given so much of our time, freedom and national wealth to enable the development of vaccines. That they took personal decisions, in my view based on misinformation and scare stories, was selfish. Sometimes itís necessary to put personal reservations aside in the national interest. Nevertheless, as itís someoneís right to be selfish I was never in favour of compulsion.

What I argued for were the rights of the vaccinated to know who was not vaccinated by introducing vaccine passports. Venues could then decide to segregate people if they decided it was in their interests to do so and should they not then the vaccinated could decide whether to enter or not. Such arrangements were made for air travel, and I see no reason why it could not have been extended.

That ultimately it transpired that the variants did not completely stop transmissions is beside the point. The vaccines reduced severe disease and that alone was important as it eased the pressures on the health service. That lesser symptoms could also mitigate the level, or severity, of transmission is another consideration.

The show has been cancelled because the owner was unaware of who was going to perform. When he heard he decided it was unsuitable for his venue.

His venue. His decision. If he had decided to discriminate on illegal grounds then he could have been in difficulties. He didnít. He decided the act wasnít suitable, not because the performer had the wrong colour skin, sexuality or disability.

Not compulsory but without it you can't go anywhere.

No he didn't. He waited until he received an unknown number of complaints from the permanently offended and then changed his mind.

Untrue. You could go to venues which an owner opens to all. You just wouldnít meet me there. You could go to venues devoted entirely to the unvaccinated.

Too often people complain about their rights being trampled on whilst forgetting they are actually trying to trample on the rights of others.

Freedom of speech is an example. Everyone can say whatever they like at home, or in other private places whilst in the company of the like minded. Restrictions only apply where other people are. People who have the right not to hear language and attitudes deemed to be unacceptable by society, as determined by our representatives.

How he reached his decision is immaterial. It was his decision to make.
