I think this is the right decision. I expected PV to get a warning as to future conduct but not a ban given the level of provocation, absence of stewarding etc. It will be very amusing to see the Everton fan reaction however. One supporter who runs a blog was outraged that PV wasn't charged by the Police (while excusing their own fans behaviour of course) and now they will even more incandescent.

Who would have supported the prosecution of PV? It had no legal or political value. The only thing I regret is that PV didn't slap that t*** a bit harder. I'm sure many Everton fans and pundits would agree.

Not in a million though however we should hold it in reserve should we want to do so next season.
