Protesting is OK. The problem is that some of these mental Islamist types would cut your head off if you offend them.

We are now having our free speech about religious subjects threatened by heathen violence.

You may argue that environmental factors influence decisions, and that would be correct. You might argue that the expansions of human population makes all this unavoidable.

I would argue that a species that has almost completely moulded the planet for its own ends can easily do something as simple as deciding who lives where. Britain has borders that can be easily protected. The only thing stopping that are the foolish decisions of men sitting around tables, not a form of manifest destiny.

I certainly believe in evolution and that it applies to the way humans live as much as anything else. Men sitting around tables can determine many things, but they are powerless in the face of unstoppable tides. Some things have a momentum of their own that will overwhelm everything.

If our borders were easily protected, then they would be. That people find new ways to evade protections is as old as time.

You sit at a keyboard and think this is just a matter of a lack of will power. It isn't. It's the result of a combination of irresistible forces combining to produce an impact we can mitigate but not eradicate.

The only way to stop this would be to have a series of wars, widespread genocide and the risk of the complete destruction not only of ourselves but of mankind.

I prefer to mitigate.

There is no secular dogma. That is an oxymoron. All it involves is ensuring religion does not dominate. It doesn't ban it, for those who wish to have it in their lives, but asks them to keep it away from those who don't and to ensure that all children are allowed to decide for themselves, and that indoctrination is avoided.

Tell that to J.K. Rowling.

OK, so tell me exactly what it is that stops us controlling our borders?

You are suggesting a hypothesis that goes deeper than just politics or environment. You are saying that our destiny is not in our own hands, even at the simplest level.

That sounds quasi religious. Are you sure you want to go with that?

. It's too far gone.

i would avoid Ireland. It's even worse. Our St Patrick's day parade seems to have expunged the Saint himself or any reference to Christianity.

just a big Lefty extravaganza.

I thought the film was pretty unrealistic when they all started eating bacon and egg McMuffins then popped down the pub to get some pints in.

No word of a lie, an ex-collegue of mine who I was good friends with once (jokingly) pulled the 'Muslim' card (which he was) in a very non-serious situation.

I proceeded to remind him that the first time we'd met he was eating a 'bacon + sausage', yes both, sarnie with a Mayfair fag behind his ear and was well known for his fondness for a pint of Peroni.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Likely accurate behind closed doors. Like most religious zealots and ideologues, the behind the scenes is very different from the front of shop. Hypocrisies abound.

Yep, me too. I don't think I'd have been particularly interested in this film, but now I want to see what all the fuss is about. Hope they don't ban it down here in the sticks, but anyway, I guess it'll soon be on TV.

itll be on interwebs even quicker, POG.
try RARGB, via a VPN mate.
about a month id guess.
