Palace playing waiting game, we are still very much in for:

Sarr - could make a fresh bid in coming days
AWB - more likely loan
Gallagher - will go down to last day again a loan
Sounare - Palace very interested in £12m deal we will see
Moriba - Don’t write this still keen they want 20m palace holding out as only want to pay 14m

Still expecting us to sign 2/3 players.

Keep the faith may go down to last few days.

I would be very happy with Sounare and AWB, AWB and Schupp would be ideal WBs in a back 5, not Schlupp in a back 4

I suppose one possible plus is that clubs can look at the team at the moment and reevaluate which positions do/don't need strengthening based on performances. Maybe that is what is happening at the club at the moment, particularly around the midfield ? In fact that is probably what is happening with a fair few clubs, prompting some to panic buy. Luckily I don't think that is us.

If West Ham buy that Chelsea LB then, according to BBC, means a summer spend of £125m. No points yet. Waiting until the deadline day when the overpriced panic buys have been taken up by other clubs could work out for us.

It can, but it also has it's risks. Very easy to end up with no one, as clubs also become less likely to release players, as they can't get a suitable alternative in.

I often think with deadline day, it can be a bit like going around a nightclub on the last dance trying to pull. You often find all the good ones have gone.

I'd rather we spent a little more on targeted individuals before the season starts, so they have plenty of time to bed in. Seems SP likes the last minute bargain though.

I imagine lots of people like bargains. In SP's defence I would say:
1) I think I'm right in saying we got in early for Eze 2 years ago.
2) We did most of our important business early last summer.
3) We did some early business this window. Doucoure dragged on because we couldn't haggle with Lille on price and ultimately had to pay what they wanted. I can see already why we wanted him.
4) I suspect we have a limited budget this summer after last summer's virtual extravaganza (in Palace terms) and the club/SP want to stretch it as far as they can.
5) The apparent interest in bringing back Gallagher combined with Eze's start to the new season has possibly complicated things in the midfield area.

Anyway, we still have another 9 days before the window closes and whilst it would be good to bring in a couple more before it closes, I don't see us being in a desperate situation requiring panic buying. Also, I suspect there may well be one or more loan options if needed.

It’s always a little worrying when a manager clearly wants a few more and it doesn’t happen.. Viera, has done this, and he should know. I suspect we can get by, but through a full season it will be by the skin of our teeth, in particular if we fancy some real cup runs. There is time yet and Viera ,has also intimated we are trying so fingers crossed.

PV said the same last year he wanted another 2-3 and didn't get them.

SP made up some excuses about having deals in the work but time running out and quickly changed tune to doing great business.

We must have money we have been linked with another player who went to West Ham who came in at medical stage so this means a fee was agreed.

why is it taking so long this annoys me with Palace take so long every time (its not even a case of we end up getting bargain prices in transfer fees or wages)

I would have expected a loan to have happened already.

AWB came on for United could this be a sign he will be used as squad player for them?

You are making reference to Flynn Downes who signed for his beloved W.Ham in a £12 Mill deal, a sum which is modest in PL terms.

Evening everyone,

I am going to post updates on here as soon as I get them & when my work allows, I am not asking you to believe everything I put but will post for those that are interested:

As off tonight I have been told the following:

Cheick Doucoure - Done Deal 5yr deal - €20m
Sam Johnston - Done Deal 5yr deal - Free

We are very interested in the following:

Lewis o’Brien - £12m
Joe Aribo - £15m
Chris Richards - £10m
Levi Colwill - £10m
Emmanuel Dennis - £20m
Ibrahim Sangare - £25m
AWB - Loan with obligation to buy £25m
Ola Aina - £10m

We will not get all of these obviously as some are 1st & 2nd choices but I would expect 3 of these on top of the 2 confirmed.

It’s great to see that we have a clear plan & strategy

Dazza, which 2 off your list do you still expect us to sign, to go with the one that we have?

I'm not following every move - just the BBC transfer / gossip page and this website but I think the following have been signed by other clubs

Lewis o’Brien - £12m
Joe Aribo - £15m
Levi Colwill - £10m
Emmanuel Dennis - £20m

Which leaves
Ibrahim Sangare - £25m
AWB - Loan with obligation to buy £25m
Ola Aina - £10m

from the list

So it will have to be 2 from the 3 that remain…..I’d settle for that.

Sangare has recently signed a 5 year contract with PSV.

I am not aware of any interest in Ola Aina who did not impress me when I saw him on loan at Fulham from Torino.
