The main stand is just the start of the revamp. I’m sure we would see incremental capacity increases up to around the 40k mark if we can stay in the PL for another ten or so uears and beyond.

Which takes us up to 10th assuming other clubs don't also increase.
We are a mid table club in every and any aspect you look at

And we still need a striker

The stadium is the big problem ,even the proposed upgrades which some including myself have doubts over (they would have done it by now if they could) will only get us to 30,000 ,thats 14th highest in the PL a mid table side which is where we are anyway .In truth we are punching above our weight as it is ,the improvements on the ground ,the academy(Sheffield utd , Luton and Bournmouth are the only prem teams without cat 1 acadamies)just get us to where we should be .

Improvements take time, the balance of staying in the Premier, building a new stand and Academy investment and a lot of money. The current board have these ambitions and it’s not easy.
The board and Parish get a lot of stick for what looks to be a business plan of improvement. All previous boards have struggled to make things happen and 2 took us to the brink of extinction. We haven’t had proper investment in the infrastructure of the club for years, there is a lot of catching up to do.

I just saw this.

Botafogo had been the jewel in Textor's crown but it's all going Pete Tong.

If Textor has any sense he will let Parish get on with running our club whilst he tries to sort out the mess at Lyon.

You're missing some obvious details. The value of the club. Everything being done is increasing its value. They're businessmen. No need for suspicion that we can't go higher than 10th, and actually, we are always a few bad scenarios away from relegation.

Im not knocking it Painter I'm just not buying the suggestion that increasing the capacity and sticking in a few more corporate boxes will improve anything on the pitch.

We can go higher , of course we can its a sport .The right team at the right time and who knows where we would end up . The infrastructure of the club will always be mid table though and thats with the improvements .
I get what your saying though it remains to be seen if increasing the value will result in more value to the squad or more value to the shareholders

Common sense, I'm impressed!

Of course it will. Boxes at Spurs go for over £10m a season! We cant ask that much for all sorts of reason but you are naive if you think the money Palace could make from a new main stand isn't potentially huge. Being in London (even south of the river) is still a big advantage

Ideally both, but most likely shareholders. That's their aim after all. And I think answers the issue.

Also, have spurs improved? No. Are they worth more? Yes

Elpis didn't say that, he said "improving things on the pitch"

Said before Textor reminds me of Allen Stanford..!!

Someone described it beautifully once as the "The emperors new clothes" - very apt..!!
