Well, it is a shame, but Coventry have turned themselves into a debacle so perhaps it's for the best. He may well have looked 'out of his depth' but hopefully they've been too quick to judge and I'd be surprised if he could have been any worse against Man city than Richards. 3 weeks ago Lisandro Martinez was a laughing stock and considered out of depth in the Premier League, and since then he's played a significant part in a side who's won 3/3, conceded one and he personally won all five aerial duals against Leicester - more than anyone else on the pitch. There is more to a successful transition than just throwing players into the mix, so maybe the Coventry environment just wasn't right. Got to be a real hit in confidence though.

Having said that, I do agree with the comment regarding Chelsea's loanees versus ours. We are well behind in terms of comparative quality. When was the last time an outbound U21 loan really made a difference? I'm still disappointed that Nya Kirby went from U17 World Cup winner to being released. Rak-Sakyi's start at Charlton seems as impactful thus far as anyone I can remember, and also Scott Banks has been name-checked several times at Bradford.

Jake, last night, scoring at 90+3 to save a point.

RWD Molenbeek (now 6th/12) 2 -- 2 RSCA Futures (3rd)

RSCA = Anderlecht 's under-23 squad, which in addition to several other top shelf u23 squads has grown the league ("Belgian first division B" from 7 to 12 since last year.

I witnessed Nya Kirby play for both Blackpool and Tranmere and his performances did not suggest that he would be a real asset to our club.I was not surprised to hear he had been released.

Tayo looks so full of energy but his positioning has looked questionable when I've seen him play, often getting himself out of trouble due to his pace. If the coaching team can work with him on that I think he'll be great, but just perhaps not ready for the Championship yet.

Charlton fans seem in love with Rak-Sakyi. I heard they are even thinking of naming a caravan park after him.

I have been enjoying one of the Charlton fan forums over the last few weeks. It's interesting how they view Rak Sakyi.

Largely they are ignoring him with a couple of noble exceptions, they seem to hate their owner and a lot of their own players. However despite saying very little about RS when they rate the players he normally comes out top e.g. their man of the match.

Simply out they don't like praising him even though it is obvious he is now a key player for them. My favourite comment was from a Charlton fan who was brave enough to praise him.

Charlton Fan 1

"I can;'t wait for the January window" (they feel they had a bad summer window and didn't get the players they needed).

Charlton Fan 2

"Why so palace can take back Rak Sakyi, that's all we need".

Anyway despite their grumbling the lad is doing well I saw his assist yesterday good play and a proper assist he put it on a plate for the Charlton lad.

I see Street has gone to Shrewsbury on loan. I think he's actually our best prospect CF by miles - he reminds me of Murray. I presume I've set him up to fail nicely now.
You always wonder why Shrewsbury changed the name of their ground? What was wrong with Gay Meadow?

He came on in the 67th minute against Forest Green Rovers yesterday when Shrewsbury were 2-0 up and that is how it ended

Good he is getting some minutes

I may be wrong but I saw somewhere we recalled him rather than he came back as a returned item.

Is going out on loan actually good for the player? In Street's absence John-Kumani Gordon and Akinwale are pulling up a lot more trees than he did.

Tayo's in the naughty chair with PV but not for long, he could be challenging again quite soon.
