I had an open discussion with some Nigerians yesterday. They had formed the opinion that governments/institutions were taking people's property.
By:
Interest rates causing mortgage defaults and home repossessions.
People's homes being sold for end-of-life care.
Young people not being able to get on the property ladder.
Businesses being swallowed up by takeovers or mergers.
(other mechanisms are also being used)

The rich are getting richer, and the workers will have nothing. Not in my lifetime, perhaps, but that's the way it's heading.

Both Animal Farm and 1984 were referenced by the Nigerians

If you want to waste your time looking, I suggest you do, because it would be a better use of your time than repeating nonsense.

That's not an opinion. It's a fact.

So kindly put up, or.............

I don't doubt for a moment your mother lived on the road between Scorrier and Porthtowan, which is one I know well and use frequently. I buy pasties at Prima (4 frozen medium steak a bargain at £5) and had one for lunch today. Just opposite Rodda's clotted cream dairy and next to Tim Martyn builders merchants. Not a bowling green in sight!

If you knew Scorrier at all well, you would have gleefully jumped on a post of mine that claimed I played bowls there. You didn't, because I didn't.

Oh but you did and i will find it!!

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Your definition of "many" must be as accurate as Silurian's memory. I don't doubt the usual small group of unpleasant regressives hope so, but as they hope for many things that are not going to happen, that's unsurprising.

The most charitable take I have on this stupidity is that he has misunderstood, or misremembered, something from the past, because knowing his desire to leap upon any perceived error he thinks I make it beggars belief I would ever post a claim I know full well to be untrue.

It's very far from just me who believes the system needs reform, and given what's happening now I suspect those numbers will grow. Including within the Tory party itself if, as seems likely, their decision is seen as shooting themselves in the foot and results in a Labour government.

Are you content with it? Do you want the Unions choosing a PM?

Who knows how reality works on your planet? Doesn't beggar my belief

FYI, the definition of many generally depends on your definition of large.

Using "accurate" is incorrect as the subject is an indefinite number

Perhaps I should have written " many of the posters who bother to engage with the self indulgent rubbish you post ".

Being called a regressive by you is wonderful, I may well get a T shirt custom made with suitable printing to celebrate

3 edits and it is still this bad? I am glad we didn't see the first draft!

I live on the same planet as everyone else. I just keep my feet on the ground and eyes open to what is actually happening today, and not constantly looking back to what used to be.

Do you really think a definition of "many" depends on another of "large"? Seriously?

Definitions of words can be inaccurate, whatever they are.

You can write whatever you wish. Just as I can.

As I am constantly amazed at the nonsense people pay to have printed on T-shirts, you carry on if it amuses you and helps to reduce the anger you seem to possess.
