Write from a position of knowing nothing, so you clearly know more than what i've read and seen? Fill me in then.. lol

Interviews with him he comes across like he feels elevated above PV in terms of knowledge.

For me PV is the real issue.. not the assistant, players or board.

Good grief. You write from a position of knowing nothing. Fair enough it's your opinion but bear in mind that Osian is someone that PV wanted onboard.

Can anybody answer why our away form is so bad? We have scored 3 goals (one an own goal) and not won (even against ten men at Liverpool).

Perhaps we miss our tumultuous home support or is it the manager's set-up which has all the hallmarks of a Hodgson system. Why are we so poor in the first half, home and away ?

I fully accept the criticisms of the full-backs and have always bemoaned the lack of a creative, holding midfielder.

Surely, as one of the great midfielders of the past, the manager can recognise our discrepancies and correct them?

Yes, we need assistance to Doucoure and I think it is time that Will Hughes is given the chance. There do not seem to be any other suitable alternatives in the regrettable absence of McArthur.

To stay up we need to:
1) keep up our reasonable home form and
2)sort out the midfield with new players in January.

Roy Keane, Bryan Robson, Glenn Hoddle, Paul Ince, Graeme Souness, Lothar Matthaus even Bobby Charlton, very good midfielder players that failed badly at the Management level

Certainly a disappointment after the Wolves performance. The worst performance of the season by a country mile (and that includes Leicester). Didn't see that coming.
I suppose, post-Wolves, it seemed a good idea to play five attackers yesterday. Then again, in the absence of Doucoure, a distinct lack of grit in the midfield. And the grit we had is past his sell-by date.
Not a fan of 4-3-3. We don't have the personnel to staff it.
And, at this level, starting with Ward, Milivoyevic and Ayew is taking the Michael. At least these three positions must be earmarked for improvement in the next transfer window.

A minute ago we were 9th with a string of six matches ahead of us that looked winnable.

This game brought us back down to earth and I think many fans (at least reading this thread) are now venting things that we've all been thinking /worrying about for the last few games.

We seem to be falling into a pattern of starting slowly. Almost like the players can't be bothered until it matters.

We also badly miss the Gallagher/Macca axis in the middle. I wonder whether we actually nearly got CG and so now management is scrambling to patch things up until January.

A game like this exposed Eze's showboatiness. To become a more complete player he needs to do the defensive work, and he also needs to be more incisive in attack. If he can only do the occasional mazy run, I'm not sure that's enough. Maybe I'm being unfair to Eze, but since he was more in the middle than Olise and Zaha, he was more exposed.

It's all quite upsetting.

He's on record as saying that the squad is lighter than he would like. He doesn't control the club's purse strings, all he can usefully do is request the type of player he wants and trust Dougie and Parish to deliver.

I agree that Hughes seems unable to convince PV that he could be a solution, and until he's given a chance we won't know the answer.

Indeed Vieira asserted that the squad is lighter than he would like.
Apropos Hughes, I have not been that impressed and certainly do not believe he will be the solution.

I don't claim to know any more than you, although I did point out that Roberts was someone that PV wanted to work with.

You are speculating and looking for someone to blame. You wrote critising Roberts but then end up blaming PV anyway.

So PV is the '' real issue '' - care to elaborate ?

Me either.

I think he's a tidy enough player but not the type we need.

Yesterday highlighted all our weaknesses, our defenders cannot defend against skillful players, they cannot cope with high balls in to the box and give away possession far too easily and lack pace. Yesterday the whole back line (Ward, Andersen, Guehi and Mitchell) made 7 tackles between them in the whole match. The midfield went missing and Everton were just allowed to do what they liked. Edouard had 1 shot (not on target) and made no tackles either. As others have already said this squad is not up to the job and PV was badly let down with our recruiting activity during the summer when he made it very clear the type of players and numbers that were needed but as is usual he was largely ignored. The bottom of the table is now only 4 pts away and all the teams around us are now finding their feet as Notts Forest demonstrated yesterday when they played Liverpool. At the moment we are too predictable, sadly its second season syndrome and I'm afraid having a bigger modern stadium in the championship is not going to help this club unless DF and SP get active in the transfer market in the next window!
