Maybe we didn't do so badly after all.

A fair summary I think. We did get some things wrong like our lack of PPE and respirators and I think the 2nd Lockdown was not required. The high death rate in care homes is also a concern. Overall though as the article says we did okay. I remember at the time when the papers were comparing daily death and infection rates between us and the EU an expert stating this was a terrible idea and that it would probably be another 2 years before we could do so accurately, it looks like he was right.

We didn’t and I don’t recall too many ever suggesting otherwise. Indeed the point about us being free to negotiate our own vaccine contracts was well publicised at the time with the EU getting upset over supplies coming our way earlier. I don’t think Brexit was ever suggested as a reason for a poor performance over the pandemic itself. It hasn’t helped with some of the consequential problems though.

It was more than a suggestion that England should have locked down earlier and for longer even though those who did had worse outcomes. Doubtless that's another conspiracy theory.

Everything is worth investigating. Probably not though by this guy as he is a controversial political activist as well as a Professor. He stood for UKIP and opposed lockdowns. Neither of which have much connection to cancer or HIV research

Here is the actual Lancet piece on the evidence of Mnra vaccines being detected in breast milk. It isn’t, unsurprisingly, what the Twitter comments, want you to believe:-

Can valid comparisons be made? How best to determine the answers to those questions? Via opinions on a football forum? Or via a lengthy enquiry looking dispassionately and objectively at all the evidence?
