I am going on holiday in a couple of weeks time and am delighted to see that the travel company are continuing to insist that all those travelling with them must be fully vaccinated unless they can show a medical exemption.

I am glad to see common sense prevailing over commercial expediency. Although I wouldn't travel unless such arrangements were in place, so maybe there is also commercial expediency involved.

As has been said already it was six of one half a dozen of the other.

When it first hit we had no idea how to deal with it. Therefore lockdown was the only option to prevent it spreading rapidly and affecting many peoples lives. Especially the vulnerable.

It should be remembered that its not just deaths but those who suffer post covid issues. The vaccine has reduced both deaths and the post covid issues.

Had we not had lockdown to prevent the spread then many more people would have died/ended up in hospital/suffered long term issues. In the early days without the vaccine those with other issues eg. cancer heart problems, would have become seriously ill or died if they caught covid.

We now know that its a hemo illness and not respiratory. So the treatment has changed from those early weeks and months.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing for the critics.

As with Badger I agree the only place being vaccinated makes sense is on a boat as it spreads like wildfire, but to temper that we all know being vaccinated doesn’t stop you carrying it so I’m not 100% sure on why it makes a huge difference.

The double dose vaccinations and booster are only valid until around July this year. So what happens then, do they enforce yet more vaccinations onto people for a significantly weakened virus or does it magically disappear at that date. The whole thing is riddled with inconsistencies.

I also notice that big pharma have recently convinced the BBC to run a piece on Statens for everyone with a bit of cholesterol . They obviously need to find a new source of drug sales now that covid vax sales are down. Funnily enough, cholesterol wasn’t such a big problem during covid and nor was flu.

Let me think who is the one constant winner in all this. No prizes for guessing the pharmaceutical companies.

My trip ends up with a cruise, but the travel company applies the requirement to everyone boarding a flight with them.

I would rather be on a cruise than in a hotel!

We don't use anywhere that's crowded, and there's plenty of uncrowded space on a cruise. Going ashore during the day and avoiding crowds works better than lying around a pool. Being on deck in the sea breeze after dinner, rather than being in a bar, does too. The most dubious place is on the flight. I am fully jabbed and had a mild infection a few months back so feel pretty well protected at the moment. I have though just had a very nasty cold which has lasted 3 weeks, so there are still plenty of viruses out there.
