IMO - Wilf is there with our top 3 "GOAT's" - with Sansom and Wright..!!

We never got the chance to say to say Goodbye and thanks to "King Ken" and "Wrighty" - I don't want this for Wilf..!!

Wilf out for three weeks, then back for last few matches. With all his personality flaws, he's still a wonderful player, and Will gives us a great boost for last few matches

I think I’ll wait for a more reliable source than this dubious click bait site

Is it worth a Rak-Sakyi recall? He’s doing bits at Charlton.

No. That speaks of panic and would hardly boost the confidence of the rest of the squad. It's tantamount to saying
"We can't survive without Wilf and the rest of the squad isn't up to the task so we better call back an academy lad to give us a chance".
We're good enough to survive with the squad that won the Leicester game in the second half and carried on believing till the last second..

Agree there.

The other effect possibly is halting the progression he seems to be making at Charlton to get him back to make sporadic appearances (if any) here in the PL only to have his confidence knocked before probably being sent out on loan again.

I understand the reasoning/thinking behind the suggestion but a no for me. Until we have the required points I'm happy not to see too much if any experimentation and go with the tried and trusted.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Charlton play their last game of the season on May 8th. Don’t know if it’s within FA rules but Rak-Sakyi would be available for our last 3 fixtures.

The contract he signed 5 years ago spoilt any chance he had for a try at the top level, awful advise for him, now i dont see anywhere for him, and i would certainly not offer him any contract at 130k a week, about 60k and 2 year which he wont accept, all disappointing on both sides, for our best ever player, probably.

Not that I can see ,
On the betting front he is 2/1 favourite to sign for “any Saudi Arabian side” villa second favourite at 6/1

I would imagine that if you googled the transfer news on pretty much every PL club you will find players at each of those clubs being linked with Newcastle - I am not saying Wilf isn't being considered by Newcastle but given their PL & financial situation its not exactly cutting edge reporting -

No doubt Newcastle will look to upgrade in the summer, but a 30 year old WZ who has arguably lost a yard of pace, isnt getting any younger & has temperament issues, to play against the top 6 in the PL & European tournaments, is that really the answer that they are searching for ? (unless its a short term fix)

Why on earth would he go to West Ham (especially if Moyes is still there - nudge nudge)?

If Newcastle qualify for the Champions League (which is looking increasingly likely) then Wilf going there is a possibility. His desire for the chance to play in the top European competition may be strong enough for him not to demand too much in the way of a signing on fee and wages and Newcastle will probably be spending serious money to upgrade and strengthen in other areas.

But back to the OP's topic, we will be lucky if Wilf plays again this season. The argument about him healing quickly may have been the case in the past but he only came back from an injury a few weeks back.

After one and a half game without Zaha, scoring 7 and gained 6 p, I would not mind seeing our legend leave by the end of the season. Drop the offer on the table (200 000 a week), get AWB back from United, upgrade Ra-Sakyi and left-back Ademola from the Under-21 and we will be ready for our 11th PL season in a row.
